Strange Music purchased a 2004 Excursion and had it wrapped with Kutt's album cover. Also had Skatterman's Excursion wrapped for SS. A lot of money has been spent on promotion with everything from print adds, radio adds, to posters, 7x7 & 12x12 fliers, a crazy amount of POP placed in stores, Block Party was pushed on the radio, oh and put them on a 46 city tour with Tech N9ne. Everready was also pushed back so they could release Kutt and SS's albums.

So don't say Kutt and SS HAVEN'T been promoted.
I don't mean to be a dick because I like the guy as a person, but I bought that Kutt album and aside from a max of two songs I think he sounds like a low grade Pac down to the beats.

As far as the beats go...and everyone knows how defensive I am...but I look at it like this to...MOST...not all of the beats were chosen waaaayyyy before his album came out...remember how many times the album was pushed back...well...all but about 6 of the songs were finished before the album was pushed back the first time...

Does that make sense?

Why does Kriss Kalico and Kutt work at Satin Doll? I'm not hating on them because I love their music and they are very talented but I keep hearing they doing big things and it just doesnt make sense. Kutt works as a bouncer and Kriss a MC slash bouncer. I hope they blow up and get out of there.
BEIN A RAPPER AINT ALL ITS CRACKED UP TO BE. JUST CAUSE YOU IN THE GAME DONT MEAN YOU BALLIN, THEY GOTTA GET BY AND PAY THE BILLS TOO, SO THIS IS WHAT THEY DO!

Well... I just... I dunno I'm not sayin' he's bad, I'm just sayin'... He doesn't stand out to me. Especially considering the fact that when listening to that album, I can't tell when it's him or Tech most of the time.

I just think it would be in his best interest to get off the label and do his own thing... It still won't be my type of shit but I also think it would be a benifit to him and his style.

They were promoted, but not nearly enough.. Why did Project Deadman get commercials and Skat & Snug and Kutt got vans wrapped in K.C.? How do you expect to sell anywhere but K.C. with shit only in K.C.?

The only thing about Kutt's album that bugs me a little is Krizz all over it.. I don't dislike Krizz at all, but it gets a little repetitive when he does every single chorus.. But, that's all.. I think the CD is pretty awesome besides that, and he shows that he should be big.

Me personally I think the Strange Music camp is awesome. I mean there are really no weak links well maybe Snug and Skatterman but nobodys perfect. I think Strange has their own distinct sound and if they chose to fuck with anybody I think it should be Court Dog. I think Tech and Court choppin on a track with Krizz on the chorus would be killer. But what do I know.....

Well, I never saw a van, but I did see the PDM commercial on T.V. around five or six times.. I think the commercial would sell a lot more than a van... PDM sucks, I don't see why they wouldn't give the money for Kutt advertising rather than PDM advertising. And, every Best Buy near me has around 15 PDM CDs, but no Kutt CDs.

How ya gonna have Court in a camp fulla cats flamed up all the time? I don't think even he is wantin' to be in that position. I can't see him chillin' like that, or anyone from that side of the blocc for that matter.

As far as Empire, maybe some of the comments Grant Rice has made have stalled the happs on them gettin' with Strange. Not that I think he is wrong. Why would anyone want to be on a label owned and operated by the two people most interested in seeing "TECH N9Ne" get his due. I'm by no means a Strange hata, I know and understand how this game works. Sometimes the lil' acts on a label are the beef on the ribs of a greater member of the food chain.

But as far as I'm concerned no one on that label could carry Techs mic cords. He is one of the tightest cats I have heard from this genre of music. I don't care about the colors as much as the message in the music. He is definitely deserving of better things and I know eventually he will get it.

this is just my opinion, but maybe the fact that PDM got commercials and noone else did is because Mike E. Clark is part of PDM. Psychopathic made millions of $$$ and has a huge juggalo fanbase, and most of those fans know who Mike E. Clark is. What better way to make money then to have a commercial for the group Mike is in. What would draw a bigger fanbase, a commercial for someone not to many people have really heard of (Kutt, S&S), or a comercial for a group that has someone who is known in it (Mike E. Clark).

Addressing some misconceptions.....

Justin- Having wrapped vehicles are pointless? Funny damn near EVERYONE in KC started rapping everything from Astrovans to Tahoes after Strange Music wrapped the initial Anghellic fleet. Not to mention how many huge corporations who use wrapped vehicles (red bull, oscar meyer, etc). So someone must think it's a good idea. They are billboards on wheels. They draw PLENTY of attention.....trust that. A status thing? Come on Mickey Vegas has/had a wrapped vehicle for fuck's sake. That really boosted his status in rap music.

Robby2Slobby- I dont think the PDM commercials were aired outside of Michigan. I could be wrong though. And I also believe Mike E. Clark put up a lot of money for the album and it's advertising budget. I think he also produced the commercial too. So, all that was needed was to buy some cable tv ad slots in a couple markets.

The wrapped vehicles just dont sit in KC. In fact the Kutt wrap was only in KC a day or two before it was driven out to LA to be used out there. Skatter's truck makes it out of town a lot too.

Michampin- I have no idea why Empire isn't signed to Strange, why dont you enlighten me/us since you seem to KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM?

For those who don't think other Strange artists haven't been promoted well, then what are your ideas to make it better? Roll all the advertising money and put it into a commerical and throw it on BET and MTV for a month? Give the money to the artist and let them do their own promotion and create their own network of street teams? I feel we've done an exceptional job given our budget and manpower. What more could/should be done?

People probably think that strange just has money sitting around and that they should use it on these other rappers. I understand that this is not true but many others don't. Some might argue that if Strange does put up the money for them for more promo that in the end it will bring back more money. I don't know shit about the music business so I can't comment.
