Lmao, Wow shep, get it that azz playa. It's funny how Shep is out here puttin' so much love on the net for these artists and the people that claim to be in so tuff with these camps, be in here with such disrepsectful attitudes towards the very people that promote and buy their product. I remember the Kutt reviews and all the Tech traccs that play in constant rotation on his site. How easy we forget about our alligence to the very people that butter the bread we eat.

Shep, let me explain a few things for you. Kutt is not the draw for a Strange Music show. Not many people know who Kutt is outside of the Midwest, or Kansas City for that matter. Do you really expect Strange to make him a headliner on a national tour? He has to build a following before he can be a draw. That is where the touring comes into play. As for radio promotion...Do you know how hard it is to break a song into rotation by an unknown artist from an independent label?? Major labels have all of the real power in this business. All they have to do is say a song will be big, and the radio stations will follow. They have all the major publications(Vibe, The Source, Rolling Stone) in their coner. If they want to push an artist to be famous, all they have to do is spend the money. Payola is still a major factor in getting airplay with commercial stations. The fact that Strange is going for a major label deal tells me that Strange wants to get SERIOUS about promotion. I think to a certain extent they are fighting an uphill battle as an independent label. Travis is trying to make the deal that would make them a player in this business. This is turn would do nothing but good for Kutt and SS. As for the promotion for the current albums, I can't speak on that. I don't know what's been done, etc. Maybe they chose to spend money on getting Tech's record done earlier so that the deal could help Kutt and SS's records. I don't know...and that's the whole point I've been making about the people that come here and critcize Strange on this forum. We really don't know what is going on behind the scenes and what factors come into play in the decision making. And this place seems to be full of experts....Now, don't I have a right to have an opinion on this forum also?? My voice is an opinion also. I was not attacking you or anyone else personally here. I was simply making a comment about how I thought it was funny about how so many "experts" come here to voice their opinions about Strange, etc without really knowing what is going on. Notice I said it was "funny"...I wasn't trying to start a fight, but that seems to be the M.O. around here sometimes. I don't even think you guys should stop, or change ANYTHING for that matter. I was simply making a comment, and evryone jumped all over it. As for disrespect, etc....These are MY opinions, not Strange's. Alot of you already know that I am an asshole, and I am comfortable with that. So be it. But I have just as much of a right to make a comment here as anyone else does...

my comments about disrespect weren't directed at you man.

i never said kutt should headline a national tour, and i do think that he should be marketed in his home state to build the following. that was my point, that is NOT being done.

as for strange persuing a major label, thats all well and good, but the major label doesn't have to sign the acts that are on strange, and would you blame them? majors need to see sales to make a deal, and with tech, they are seeing that, with kutt and ss they are not.

Roberto, tell me that Kutt's album doesn't have the potential to hit it big. So why isn't it? I have seen no promotion whatsoever, and i live in MO, the area where he should be getting really big. In 2 major radio markets of MO (springfield and st. louis) i have not heard a song, and there are plenty of songs that could be singles on there. I like how people talk about people outside the industry criticizing. Well, we ARE the industry. We are the ones that buy the music, we are the ones that do the most promoting, so i think it is right for us to say whether or not we disagree with how an artist that we like is being handeled. we are sitting back wondering why it Kutt is not blowing up. The fans know that he should be. So when we don't see it happening, and the only thing we see happening is a wrapped van, of course we're gonna question some things. And if this is a money issue, maybe Strange shouldn't have moved so quickly to a high rent property. My 2 Cents.
Yeah that makes sense. But I dont think its a money issue because Court Dog lives in Belair which is more expensive than Sherman Oaks which is where Tech lives and I'm sure Strange is working with more than Court. I think they choose to push who they who thay believe in...Tech

Who really gives a shit where Kutt and Kalico and whoever work or live or anything personal for that matter. I mean we listen to thier MUSIC, thier entertainers thats it. I love how people always so fuckin nosey into what everybody else doing, especially since most of you don't even know'em in that way. Strange is still an independent label in a city that has yet to be noticed on nation wide scale. I'm sure Strange/Travis/Tech are doing all they can do make more money/get more fans and at the same time remain somewhat of thier own "boss." When Everready does drop, and they decide to do that video and get that big label distribution or whatever and people will see how sick Tech really is....the rest of the world will as well and they will start running to KC for talent. Thats when the people like Kutt, S&S, Empire, Court, etc...will really begin to see exposure....Thats just how I see it. Give it time people.

If Tech gets signed to a major label, I think that things will work out the way things did for D-12. Eminem got big, then D-12 got into the picture mostly because Em was huge. Same with Tech. If he gets big, Kutt, S&S, and everybody else on strange will kinda be brought up because Tech is big.

To sum it all up...

Basically, what everyone is saying is that...

1. What are the numbers from Kutt's album and SS's album?
2. They dont understand that, Krizz and Kutt arent comfortable to where they can just stop working financially. But since they are doing "Big Things" what exactly does that mean???
3. Why did Strange "not" promote Kutt bigger in the M.O. rather than taking the truck on the road? (I figure that they were touring, so Strange didnt have time to spread the word in Missouri)
4. MTV would be a good place to start and fuck it, Tech has to conform in a way to gain that trust with MTV then blow the indy out the water. People will feel him.
5. Tech's blown up, but he hasn't. Until he even makes it to the small plateau that even "Crime Mob" has, he isnt blown up really. And they suck, it's just that he isnt a household name. All they are are hook rememberable.
6. Kutt's promo seems a little awkward to me too because I didnt really see any of it. Now dont start getting shit fucked up on what I am saying, but I think that they should've put the 3 major Missouri cities on lock first, even doing a bitch as single with Kyjuan or Murphy Lee to get airplay in the Lou and on local radio first and then go from there.
7. A major deal is definaltely needed, not saying that Strange isnt doing the job, but I believe that if Strange was on a major level, they'd be doing 200% more marketing and promotion than anyone... What are the numbers from Kutt & SS's albums???

8. Tech's gonna blow, I know it... It's just what direction his album will take as far as singles wise. Yall gotta understand, people out here dont even care what the verses say, as long as you got a catchy hook and a beat that can be used as a ringtone, then you in like Flynn. Other than that, no one hears you.

9. Tech's first single is gonna either have to have Lil' Jon, Ludacris, Twista or some mainstream faggot to pop. Oh yeah, what was the numbers from Kutt & SS's albums???

Sorry to break it to ya...
