SPM he got some witty lyrics sometimes and coo metaphors fo a chicano rapper but he dont flow all that tight...too slow...

Depending on who you ask today, these cats may very well be chicano. You dont typically have to be of Mexican blood to be chicano anymore. You can be of any latino desent and still be chicano. But the definition is changing all the time. One of my Chicano Studies classes defined the term chicano as:

iam hispanic and the only latino/hispanic cd I own is Cypress Hill - Skull and Bones and i didnt even buy it, my brother gave it to me cause he didnt like it

First release will be in May, dude named Soldado Lil. 40 Oz(RIP). Homeboy was murdered a year ago, but we had enuff on him to do his album. Soldado Records aint havin nothin but fire, we don't fuck with nobody - hispanic or whatever - that don't have fire.
I'm thinkin dude is talkin bout Soldado Mr. Joke Dog, who is signed to Soldado Records - Mutha Fukkas raw as fuck and just gettin in the game. His album will be droppin this year too.
It's a few cold chicanos in the game now, but I give it a few years...They gonna get tighter and tighter.

To me, if you find a target market and can reach em then do it, fuck the bullshit about makin shit for dudes, females will always buy more music anyways, i pulled a soundscan on Knightowl and Shadow before, them cats are pushin up to 50,000 per project, and thats just soundscan, they sell way more off the hook at the swapmeets.
I dont think theres anything wrong with Chicano rappers. I like when they mix spanish into their songs, I'd rather hear a Chicano speaking a language he should know than to hear one saying "nigga" over and over.
And yeah, alot of those rappers that rap over oldies beats are weak. I heard 2 songs from Mr. Capone-e that were pretty good (california, reality check) then i see his new album has songs like Angel Baby 2003, Take a Chance On Me. Why go backwards with rap music?

I said that was ONE of the MANY definitions of chicano that I have expirienced. One definition I have heard over the years is that a chicano is anyone of spanish speaking background, born in the united states. That would include Pun and Fat Joe.
