The Bay area has had alot of great videos that had been overlooked over the years.
I agree that there is alot of videos today that are saturating the video game. Just like it has happened to the rap game..its happening to the visual game as well do to technology being better and cheaper.

MUMBLS(Berkeley) dropped a cool "one shot" video recently. Nothing crazy but a promising start for his first one.

besides that shit goes on all around the world, its not like the bay area invented shitty videos.

have you ever watched smack DVD?

theres literally millions of low budget shot videos.
and the shit is still dope.

song in my sig, weak video, exceptionally dope song that makes me say 'what the fuck do i care about the video?"

case in point:

Glad somebody put it out there. Makin' a quick vid as a promo just to show you still out there is one thing, but makin' a low budget video and showcasing it to promote a new song or upcoming album is another. Especially for an up and coming artist, money well invested in a music video would help establish themselves, IMO.

Somebody mentioned Lock's new vid, it's dope. Simple, yet the concept flows with the song well.

I feel you, but this video has raised the bar. Again, this is what I expect to see when people post a "video." Not the typical camcorder shots & trying to hide that fact with editing tricks. Or the park / parking lot / front of a house shots with 60 dudes in the background jumping around. This is proof independents can do more if we set our minds to it.

if its some freestyle shit, i want a hood video. if its something like zestways *coughcoughwherethefuckthevideocoughcough* i think a better quality would be in order. i'm sure its just easier to round up some brehs, throw them in the background with blunts than it is to roleplay on some la noire shit like that krypto vid.

owels

what i really want to see is studio sessions. especially for them rappers like sav sicc or hus or whatnot. i wanna see them lay vocals down, ive seen shit recorded in studios and that interests me. shit, i wanna see taylor swift lay her vocals down, i dont care who it is. i wanna see that accapella being recorded. its interesting to me

Thanks to everybody who shouted our video out in here. I agree and i disagree bcuz if i like an artist i will still fuck with the videos even if its just them standing on their block or on the stoop or jumping on cars or whatever, but when you are trying to earn new fans i think creativity goes a long way. 40 to 50 videos of the same shit from the same artist gets annoying, and everybody doesnt have a talented director at their mercy or a couple bucks to make it saucy so they do what they can and if its working then all the more power to them. The problem is when all these other up and coming rappers see that shit then they think its ok for them to do it too when most of the time their song fuckin sucks and it dont matter what kind of video you shoot it was doomed from the beginning. It aint just the bay either.

personally i dont agree. i think you should shoot as many videos as possible, if your music is good fuck thats whats gonna count.
I Disagree Due To The Fact That A Bad Video Can Have A Bad Outlook On What The Artists Did IN The Studio Recording!!!...Dont Forget You Catch Listeners By 2 Things Talent On The Mic And If So Behind The Screen..I Dont Know About You But I Cant Stand Watching AA Shitty Video It Makes ME Turn Off And Focus On The Horrible Video Rather Then The Track Being A Compliment...Shoot Videos And Videos I Agree But Dont Do Them Unless You Have A Direct INsight To The Song Making Videos For Fun Is Like Myspace And People With Bathroom Pictures lol

i never gave a fuck about how clean artists videos look. the important thing to me is the song. if the song is wack and u shoot a nice creative video for it fuck that. i'll skip it the same way skip a wack ass track on a cd. so for me, the song gotta b dope first. fuck a fly ass video if the song is garbage i dont give a fuck how much work gets put into it
