For the record I don't listen to the radio but I don't control what other people play in their whips. As far back as I can remember....... whenever I so happen to hear the radio the DJ on the hip hop/r&b stations are non-black 80% of the time. Not trying to discriminate against anyone but I'm sure on the heavy metal/country station etc. there are NO black DJ's.

Hip Hop is a black art either though its for anyone to get love & participate in but where are all the black radio DJ's?

I always thought it was because they can't rap but want to be in the rap game?

Thats how it is with the Mixtape DJs. A lot of them seem to be non-black(white, russian, mexican, indian, asian, etc). There rapping sucks so they just do beats, and mixtapes and shit like that.

So maybe the Radio DJs are the same??

Hip hop is far from a black art. Its everyones music (Its not art). It became everyones the minute it was released.

Who cares of there are black white hispanic DJ's. I could care less. Then again Iam not the type to look at color.

Hip Hop iz for everyone but it was created by blacks. I'm not tryin to disrespect any ethnic group cuz its enough money for everyone & many talented non-blacks contributing to hip hop but it just seems like most of the radio DJ's are non-black & a majority of them seem to overcompansate for being the minority in this music genre when they are on air by trying to sound extra hip to thepoint where they don't seem like they are being themselves. A perfect example is Davey D. The white dude out here. He sounds like he's trying to be a token white & trys too hard to be excepted by blacks when all he has to do is spin records & be himself.

It's a fair question I've asked myself 2. Not that it really matters, but it just seems kinda funny how the mainstream music artists played on the radio are, for the most part Black, but the DJs never seem to be. He's not saying that we need a Million-Black-DJ march in D.C. or anything. It's just a disproportionate number and sort of misleading when you compare it to what you would think a Hip-Hop station's Djs would look like. Like if I lived in Malibu, you wouldn't expect to see a brother there, right? Just little things that don't really matter, but seem kind of odd.

REAL TALK! Never thought of it like that, but for real you got Strawberry in the morning or some shit, STRAWBERRY?????? Thats a little whack! thats why i dont like the radio, and then they play music that sounds good to whites(even thou it may be preformed by a black artist) but the music that sounds good to whites may not sound good to us latins or blacks. We have diffrent taste.

And there are no black dudes at heavey metal stations(and take it from me those people are alittle rascist especilly towards blacks)
I wanna see a white dude run the Piasa ranchera(corriods) channel.
That would be a trip.
A white dude being the DJ for a Mexican station, imagine that.lol.
So why isnt it a trip when white people run black peoples music?
Cause they been runnin black people shit for hundreds of years.
and everyone is used to it or thinks nothing of it like its normal but its not!
Thats the truth, take it how u want it

U may not look at color but its there. And if you dont see it that dosnt mean the guy walking across the street dosnt see it either. He may be a rasict ass fuck.
Look, point is , is that color dose excist, its real, its a fact of life, lets ecknowledge it but that dosnt mean be racsit and discriminate. DOnt turn a blind eye to the issue cause its very real.
with that being said
Rap is a Black music that all races like and wanna be a part of and THEY ARE!
But the foundations of hip hop are black.
ANd im latin and thats how i see it.

A lot of times DJ's work for a station and then the station changed format and they stay with them. As a DJ you are only playing the playlist anyhow so its not like you need to know anything about the music...

again i cosign Evil Genie.....

if u aint gonna help with the thread.. shut the fuck up
like your doing with this post right? i was just trying to figure out why it mattered and you gotta hop on his dick then cancel out what you said by doing the same thing you accused me of, with nothing better to add, saying shut the fuck up like a true e badass, you gonna drive to washington and beat my ass if i dont? didnt think so, so keep that talk for people you communicate to without a keyboard fagot.

and to add something i dont really listen to radio, and there arent really rap stations here, so i dont know about the whites acting black or trying to be hip, but i can see it happening, and i agree there are no blacks djing metal stations, its just that raps the hot thing at the moment and everyones trying to hop on the bandwagon. the blacks are rapping or making beats, they probably dont wanna dj, cause they can actually do music, so the other races that didnt make it into rap in high numbers dj it, i think someone said something along these lines, i just wanted to elaborate on it

I really don't wanna get too much on the "try to sound black" tip. To be a DJ on a hip hop station it would only make sense to have some hip hop in you but a lot of these DJ's(of all colors actually) sound corny but like I said a lot of the non-black ones overcompensate by tryin to sound all excited & extra ethnic to cross over. There's nothin wrong with a non-black DJ but I noticed for awhile now that there aren't that many. Conspiracy? I wouldn't count that out. Maybe the stations feel like black DJ's are too risky on the air with what they be sayin or are too hard to work with. But at the same time Clear Channel runs most radio so maybe it is a conspiracy.
