Vonnegut is quite possibly the greatest American author. Better than Twain or Poe. The ones named here, with the exception of 1 or 2, aren't very good authors, much less great ones. If you're going to name authors name people with substance not just people that write airplane novels.

im a casual reader, and have come to enjoy stephen king immensely. im not one of those people with all of his hardbacks on my bookshelf though.

im about to finish catch-22 by Joseph Heller and so far it is one of the most enjoyable reads of my life, anybody ever read any of his other stuff?
