I've read all of Robert beck's books and just got done reading dopefiend by Donald Goines it was good, I also bought " whoreson " and " street players " I'm about to start on those this week. The difference I've noticed between Beck and Goines so far is Beck uses way too much 1930s-50s slang and it some times makes it a bit difficult to understand, Goines uses slang but it's not overwhelming..

i gotta say though...i think stephen king, grisham and all those fiction writers are pretty lame too. nevertheless, my good friend whos a truly avid reader (goes through books like crazy...i know 3/4 of the authors named on here because of him) was all into grisham and that type of shit so i cant hate...but i do see where mexcom is coming from

right now my favorite author is Chuck Palahniuk dude fight club was an amazing book by him and so i read all his other shit and i love all his books
