I think a lot of people have the real problem of racism a little missinterpreted. The real, root, problem with racism is hardly the next door neighbor that calls someone spic, chink, gook, cracker, etc. The real problem with racism is the collective group effect of the power model.
For instance, if a Black man calls a white man a cracker, honky or what not, it may hurt the white mans feelings a little, or damage his self esteem for a moment. But, the white man will get over it and go on enjoying his position in society as a white man. Whereas a Black man, or person of color, when called a racist name, has his position of power reinforced that he is apart of the group that is not in power in this country.
In all, the real problem with racism is the collective group effect and position of power that each group (both more and less powerful) plays. To the WHite people who read this, you should be greatful that you enjoy your position of power that you have been given because you are born white. Races have no biological meaning at all. THey are purely socially constructed. And, from those social constructs, groups of people have been grouped into different positions of power with the white man on top.
