Madden (video game) says 49ers win NFC West....

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/49ers/...-video-game-predicts-49ers-will-win-nfc-west/

From the Just For Fun Dept. …

About this time of year, everyone within shouting range of a TV microphone has a prediction about the NFL season.

But some crystal balls are more amusing than others.

EA Sports ran a 2010 regular-season simulation using its Madden NFL 11 video game and predicted the league leaders and individual statistical leaders. EA Sports announced the results this morning.

Spoiler alert! The 49ers win the NFC West as Frank Gore has 1,380 rushing yards, Vernon Davis has 1,032 receiving yards and free safety Dashon Goldson snares six interceptions.

Here’s how the division looks, according to Madden 11:

NFC WEST

1. 49ers (10-6)

2. Arizona (8-8)

3. Seattle (7-9)

4. St. Louis (2-14)

A few more statistical projections: Alex Smith will throw for 3,184 yards with 21 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Michael Crabtree’s first full season will result in 948 yards and six touchdowns.

And Patrick Willis will lead the team with 112 tackles. Only 112? Did the controller get stuck?

Fuck Madden that shit is wack now. They need to put out a better game before trying to act like anything from that game could project what happens in real life

I'd say 49ers definitely if they had a better QB, but since it's Alex Smith, I gota remain optimistic for my sqaud. If the Oline holds up and doesn't give up big plays like last season, I think Hasselbeck will do good.

These players gota stay healthy thrughout the whole season in order for the team to accomplish something other than 3rd in NFC West: Lofa Tatupu(played 5 games last season), Matt Hasselbeck(played 14, but behind a weak o-line, which consisted of 2nd, 3rd and even a 4th string LT), Russell Okung, Leroy Hill(played in 11 games last season), Marcus Trufant(played in 10 games last season), and Chris Spencer(He was taking snaps with his left hand due to his broken right thumb, and was consistantly giving up shitty snaps, so he was moved to RG, while a rookie went to replace him). Everyone might think I'm trying to make excuses for the team, but a team can't play good football if their best players are not playing. Also Greg Knapp was the OC last season.

If the team can't stay healty, the 49ers will take the division.

I know the common thing to do is take shots at Alex Smith, but you must not pay much attention to your competition. I'm not a fan of Alex Smith, although he might change that this year. He looks a hell of a lot better so far this year than he looked last year. He was not comfortable and showed no leadership last season. This year he's changed all that. He even looked like a bag of ass last year in the preseason, against 2nd team defenses. This year he looked fine against the first teams.

Anyway, it will only take mediocre QB play to beat out the Seahawks, and that's how Smith played last year. He looks improved this year, which sucks for you guys.

The 49ers will take the division regardless. Most people see this, although I wouldn't expect many to admit it on a message board full of raider, Cowboy and Seahawk fans. :cheeky:

LOL

By the way, the AFC West sucks ass too. One good team plus three mediocre-to-bad teams = garbage.
