What I've noticed with the decline in CD sales is it's difficult for me to find those "Used" CDs for a good deal. Most music shops are gone and for a lot of people your only option is Best Buy or online. You can't go into a Wherehouse anymore to pick up some used CDs. And even online, it's the same way. I used to be able to type in any artist's name on Ebay and have several used or brand new copies with a starting bid around $5 that I could bid on and try to win at a decent price. Now, all I see on Ebay are brand new copies with only a "Buy It Now" price and with shipping the total comes out to close to $20. I've always tried to keep the price I've paid for a CD to around $10, even if it meant waiting a couple of weeks to start seeing used copies. But now, I find myself spending around $12-$15 for brand new copies, mainly from Rapbay, and I keep that as an average price per CD buy making orders of $100+. The only problem with paying more is it means less CDs I get to buy with my money, but at least I don't have to worry about receiving a CD with a hole punch or drill hole through the barcode, saw cut on the spine, or promo stamp.
