Yeah I'm not with the downloading business myself. If I want a movie I'll go buy it from Fry's or catch it on Cable/Demand.

With music, I'll hit up Rasputin's mayne. My brother downloads songs off of the internet and then puts them on a CD for me and they sound low when I listen to them in the house or in my car.

Just copped 4 or 5 awol cds from pujabs on florin so im ah try and get back but I know it will never be the same...fuck tweekers!!!

@GEMINI..IM AN ARTIST AND A LABEL OWNER.I STILL BUY CD'S..JUST BOUGHT 5 ON MY WAY 2 WHERE IM AT. MAYBE WHAT U SEE IS A VISION IN A SMALL BOX AND WE ARE LIVING IN A COUNTRY COMPOSED OF 50 STATES...AND A WORLD WITH MORE COUNTRIES THAN WE CAN COUNT. I GET FAN MAIL FROM OVERSEAS...THEY WANT 2 BUY MY CD'S. I GOT FRIENDS OUT ON THE BLOCC RIGHT NOW...THEY BUY CD'S FROM ME OR MY SON. I MAY DOWNLOAD A SONG I LIKE BUT I HAVE NEVER DOWNLOADED AN ALBUM AND DEFINITELY HAVE NEVER DOWNLOADED A MOVIE...DOES THAT MAKE ME A WEIRDO????????
NAW,NOT REALLY. THAT JUST MAKES ME DIFFERENT THAN U. THIS THREAD MADE ME HAPPY 2 DO WHAT I DO AND KNOW SOME PEOPLE APPRECIATE IT. SOME OF US ARE SET IN OUR WAYS AND COULD GIVE A FLYING FUCC ABOUT WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS OR WHATS POPULAR AT THE MOMENT. I DONT LIKE 2 CLUTTER UP MY COMPUTER WITH MUSIC FILES. I DONT DOWNLOAD. WHY IS THAT SO HARD 2 BELIEVE???
I'm not saying anybody is a weirdo, or that anybody is wrong for that matter. I am saying that the quality of music is not like it was in the 90's. People do buy Cd's and like I said, I'll buy one too, but it has to be classic.

Am I lying about the downloading? No, I don't believe I am. It's been happening since Napster and on to Limewire etc. It's a fact.

Nobody is really right, we all have different opinions in what we believe is killing the sales of music.

I was about to suggest you go to Rasputin's but I see you're not in the Bay. Rasputin's is the spot.
Believe me, I know all about Rasputin's. Even though I don't live out there, I still have a Rasputin's card to get the discount and I'll bring it out there whenever I visit my in-laws in Los Altos. They live about 3 miles from the one in I think Mountain View or on Mountain View. Dropped over $300 on CDs the last time I was there and had to mail them all back home to myself because they were too numerous to take on the airplane. I also hit up Amoeba's Music in Hollywood whenever I'm visiting family in Southern California and never leave there with less than $100 in CDs, most of them being mixtapes.

I still buy CDs. Buy a cd from your favorite major label artist then buy it on iTunes. Burn your copy from iTunes and play the two in your car (not some 25 cent iPod headphones) and you will hear the difference. That drop in quality, that thinner sound that you get from the iTunes album is apart of the reason the Monster Beats by Dre headphones are doing so well. They add the warmth and bottom that is missing with this digital album era. It also allows artist and labels to cut corners, because they know that when the music is being consumed via the shitty speakers on computers, telephones and earbuds the need for quality mixing and mastering is lowered and thus sonic quality starts to fall by the waste side.

SOME OF THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE COULD GET ON HERE AND READ THE FIRST POST AND GIVE UP ON MUSIC...NEGATIVE ENERGY SUCCS. PEOPLE NEED 2 START PUTTING IMO(IN MY OPINION) IN FRONT OF THEIR POSTS CUZ THATS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS-OPINION.

I just bought a new car seat online for my new born, ordered me some movies on netflicks, purchased a new external hard drive off ebay, deposited some money & paid my bills online & got the new Santana album off iTunes.

See what I did there? :cheeky:

I wonder if some of the people who said they have bought cds or still buy are just saying that to cover up that they really download them for free and don't want to admit that there the problem with cd sales ?
I dont think so; at least not in my case. Here're some pics of my collection I took sometime ago; maybe it aint that big, but they're mostly northern Cali rap cds plus its not that easy to collect Bay stuff when u live in Poland, Europe.

Shit's all good, G. I just been having some rough times & enjoy a good conversation on the Siccness from time to time without disrespecting anybody. Yet, we can all agree & disagree, but that's what makes life great.
