rip to mac dre..but alot of you guys be riding mac dre's dick till there's no more room on it...it's like you guys hate to see 40 shine...It's bad that mac dre died and couldn't be with 40 in videos...but we just gotta accept the fact that e-40 is the cover boy not mac dre...and stop hating on 40 just because mac dre died and you would like to see him take all the credit...but PLEASE jump off mac dre's dick....alot people just started listening to him AFTER he DIED...support 40, done deal, team, etc. etc...that's the people we gotta support...yes we GAVE mac dre's his respect but we gotta move on...stop thinking in the past...and just be grateful we still have rappers living out here in the bay that could hold us up...

Mac Dre = didn't bring shit back, i'm sorry but a lot of people outside of Cali still has no idea who he is. If you wanna get str8 to the point and not include who set us up to be in this or that position, who gave us radio play first, who said hyphy first, who made the first song about it, E-40 and Keak brung us back with Tell Me When To Go, period. That started the national craze so that's all that matters.. Yea, Dre created some unity, but whatever, he didn't bring the Bay back.. And we aren't fully back yet anyways..

If mac dre didnt die, no one would care who mistah FAB was. I dont care what no one says, i never seen no one get stewey like Mac Dre did in treal TV one, so in my mind, he and them vallejo niggas started it. Sway is also responsible for the bay gettin attention out here too.
Sumthin Terrible started that Stewie shit....Dre said it himself, talkin bout he saw what they were doin up in Sac, wildin out and shit. If you really watch Treal T.V.#1 it's pretty obvious.

FRONTLINE AND E-A-SKI....NOT ON A NATIONAL LEVEL, BUT THEY STARTED THE BUZZ ALL OVER AGAIN WITH THE "NEW BAY"...WITH FRONTLINE, LOCAL RADIO STATIONS STARTED PLAYIN BAY SHIT FINALLY...

WITH THIS EXPOSURE, A LOT OF YOUNGER CATS BEGAN FEELIN THE BAY SOUND FOR THE FIRST TIME...THIS JUMP STARTED AND FUELED OTHER RAPPERS TO GET THEIR SHINE BACK ON, ESPECIALLY ON RADIO...

THEN OBVIOUSLY AFTER DRE'S DEATH, THIS SHIT REALLY BLEW THE FUCK UP...

BUT TO ANSWER THE QUESTION, FRONTLINE REALLY BROUGHT THE BAY BACK...BEFORE THESE CATS, NO BAY ARTISTS WERE ON LOCAL RADIO AND THE WHOLE BAY AREA RAP SCENE WAS TOTALLY UNDERGROUND...

mac dre was not involved with the hyphy movement when he was alive...he had somthin to do with the thizz movement...and yall really think if md as alive he would want the spotlight like 40...he had majors tryin to get at him too but he let em go becuz he knew indepedent was the way to go..i dont think he would be pushin that hard to get on mtv or the radio...he was too hard for the fukin radio

If Mac Dre hadn't passed, "Tell Me When To Go" would be a completely different song.
False, the whole video had no type of Mac Dre element to it. It was basically an Oakland setting and Keak would of fit in with the song either way.. 40 actually needed Keak because 40 isn't from the town.. 40 was in that song rappin bout Oakland gone wild and sydeshows n shit. That ain't got shit to do with Mac Dre, ya'll give him too much credit. Maybe the stunna shadez shit but that's it, they were just rapping about an enviornment. I loved Mac Dre but let dude rest, he did a lot for the Bay but he doesn't deserve all the credit. I would distrubute the credit to the Oakland/Bay Area culture(giving niggas something to rap about). Then to 40 and Keak, I honestly think that this was bound to happen anyways, I agree that it would be better and bigger with Mac Dre, but it would of happened, everybody out here works too hard and countless people contributed in small ways to this movement, but if you're gonna be literal about it, like I said, it was 40 and Keak for getting it on TV first, period.

Well, yea, I can agree with that I guess, I think 40 would of felt self-conscious spittin out lines like "Put ya stunna shadez on" and Ghost ride the whip" when he knows that Mac Dre was on that hype more consistenly than he was, and did it better, but I thought she meant that it would of been a whole different song. The concept would of been the same because those aren't Mac Dre made concepts..

Wasn't Mac Dre one the first to rap about going STUPID and GOING DUMB...and isn't that the concept of Tell Me When To Go?

Just because he raps about it doesn't mean that he made it up and that it's his very own original concept.

Big Von brought the bay back. Even before Dre's death he started playing more bay music starting off with the new bay...
This is true also..
