this aint a hate thread. just speak on a rappper that you feel is a little overrated but doesnt neccesarily means hes a bad rapper, just a little over hyped. heres mine.

Messy Marv : i liked his new album "bandanas tattos and tounge ring" but i feel this nigga's flow was never the same after "explosive mode" album. hes been puttin' out good albums and i dont think hes ever dropped a classic album like other top bay artist like E-40, Yukmouth, and San Quinn. his flow has turned from sicc to average. but he still good but i dont cosider him top 5 in the bay like everyone says he is.

no disrespect, i love Dre and his music, but for the past 5 or 6 months (after his death), Mac Dre has been highly overrated by the people out here that are just pickin up on his shit...all of his albums have been on point, but everyone has made it seem like he was the greatest rapper of all times...

but othern then that, i'd have to agree with UPSTATE NICCA on Mess...he has drop to average...i'd also have to say The Team is overrated...they put out a good debut, but it was too much hype over it...

thats just my 2 cents...

I agree with the first post, regardless of what anyone thinks. I think Messy Marv's overrated. He was great in Explosive mode, but hasn't been able to impress me as much as he did in that album.

It's funny how cats think the same, I got to agree with everyone on this thread... I got to be honest and say I appreciated Dre more since we lost him and I regret that I didn't get into his CD's as much when he was alive. I always loved Stupid Doo Doo Dumb and Rapper Gone Bad, but it wasn't till Ronald Dregan and his passing that I really was bumping the hell out of his music.

And I agree on Messy too... always have done. He has some of the best production and tunes in the Bay, but to me his flow is nothing special to compliment it, he's great to listen to more because of his music and choice of tracks than his individual skills. I can't be mad because he's a hitmaker for sure, he seems to know a good sound more than most cats in the Bay, he just isn't the top dog emcee... damn that makes him the West Coast 50 cent lol.

I don't want to fuel a thread that hates BTW, but I'd go along with Yukmouth too. As far as his flow goes I think dude has mad skills and he's spits hardest of most people about, but he ain't a very versatile artist, he can't get on different types of tracks and sound convincing, even Messy can do that. On the real though, I don't think anyone in the Bay is too overrated, cats in the rap world are way overrated and the Bay needs to blow the fuck up already, so nah, no-one is really overrated yet.

i agree with all of yall and ima have to say nickatina is extremely overrated now.. back in da day he was fuckin vicious but now he's just wack to me..but people fuckin say he is one of da best in da bay.
