who is the most over rated rapper in the bay

I dnt know where you from or what you've seen but by your logic damn near every rapper in the game is not REAL. Ever heard of 50 cent, pac, eminem, snoop and the whole death row, game, kanye, g unit, chingy, lil kim, jadakiss etc..? I could go on forever. All of these cats rode in off the waves that others created. That's just good business and part of the game. Only artist that started off truly independent like too short, uncle luke, e 40, ugk, cash money, master p etc.. that created they own lane and momentum are exempt. EVERYONE else RODE WAVES from someone else.....EVERYONE!
Damn how is A-wax going to get mentioned in the "most over-rated" AND "most under-rated" threads? LOL, who is the most over-rated? Messy Marv comes to mind, but specifically right now...Jacka, by the amount of threads on here and praise that disc is getting youd think it was the second coming of christ, its not that great.
I see what you sayin about ppl tripping off of opinions in the BART forum, but lets keep it solid, why is it that the Bay Area gets virtually no love in this game? It's because so called "Bay rap fans" don't stand behind the artists. Now if you just hate Bay Area music or think everybody is garbage fine, but don't say you hate Bay Area music, label every major Bay Area rapper as "overrated," and then turn around and wonder why the Bay isn't on top. Niggas is hypocritical. The average user on Siccness seems to criticize everything that comes out the Bay, good or bad, then comes to the conclusion that the Bay has "fallen off." The South is on top and will remain on top because Southerners support that shit. From Gucci to Scarface, Southern rap fans is riding for them niggas till the wheels fall off. Everybody talk about unity and shit, but it ain't the artists that need to unite, it's the fans.
i'd like to nominate a group for most overrated. The Souls of Mischief. i remebered '93 til Infinity being alot better than what im hearing now, lol. Downloaded that CD recently to revisit my youth and every time a song comes on, I almost instantly have to skip it. that CD does not withstand the test of time. on a sidenote, i feel the same way about anything John Legend(Save 3 or 4 tracks), he sucks! just had to add that.
A-Wax, Mistah Fab, Messy Marv. and Clyde Carson. All them dudes are overrated in there own ways. E-40 is obviously the most unappreciated these days and its quite sickening and as much as i think doesnt have flows like he use to he still puts out great albums. Yuk is a beast watch out with that shit. Ya Boy has got hated on way to much lately dude comes raw as fuck on the mic all the time. AP9 is another under appreciated rapper on here but i gives a shit yall can listen to the bullshit yall like.
T-Rip you know I respect your opinion more than a shit load of other cats on this board, but it sounds like you are making the same mistake as some of the earlier folks. You are labeling the rappers that you don't like as overrated. Just because you don't fuck with them, doesn't make them overrated. You have made it clear that you aren't a Mess fan. And I've never heard you say anything good about FAB (BOTH OPINIONS YOU ARE ENTITLED TO). Conversely, it is obvious that you are a Yukmouth fan, which is why you say he isn't overrated. Whether you like someone or not is not the determining factor in this discussion.
this is all just a big ass debate of opinion...but, if you from the Bay, and you like and suport the music coming from our region...shouldn't it be a little tough for you to say that some of our forerunners are overrated??? I said Philthy Rich because hella cats i know been talking up his stuff and telling me his mixtape/album slap and he got dumb ass flows and what not, but i dont see it, or better yet i dont hear it....however, that don't mean that if Philthy Rich came out wit some shit i liked i wouldn't play it a lot and spread it around to those that don't know, on the contrary i would slap that shit and make sure my folks was up on it, cuz im on this bay hype yadeeg???
so for those of yall listing off the rappers you like, and literally hatefully bashing those you don't...just think about the fact that you are viciously hating on your own, and trying to segregate the market...like dude up there said ^ he likes yuk and ya boy...but called the music clyde carson and messy put out bullshit??? that dont add up to me...first of all, all these rappers are cool with one another and are doing their best (some better then others no doubt) to keep this bay shit brackin...it just dont make sense to me how some people are against their own region, this is music, we need to support our own because the east and the south won't, period...sure we all like certain artists and aren't that into others, but i think we should get away from the idea that our opinions are so great...like really ya boy idolizes messy marv....think about that...or clyde and yuk are both reppin the town, but are doing their thing in LA, think about that...it's all Bay...some are overrated some are underrated but it's all bay yomtombout???
