Since parting ways with former friend/business partner Jay-Z, Damon Dash doesn't seem to be able to catch a break. The music industry has turned its back on the loud mouthed mogul, numerous business ventures have failed to set the world a light (e.g. Pro Keds, CEO Clothing Line etc), and now his much hyped web venture blocksavvy.com looks set to hit the skids.

According to a close source the demise of blocksavvy doesn't come as a surprise. The insider says, "Both Damon and Kareem (Kareem "Biggs" Burke) are motivated by greed. They never had any real interest in the Internet or online communities, until they heard how much Myspace was sold for. They then set about creating their own version of Myspace aimed at the "urban-lifestyle demographic" and got it in to their heads that blocksavvy had the potential to generate the same level of interest.
They were hoping to have made millions by now, but that was just wishful thinking on their part. Blocksavvy doesn't have the potential to compete with what's already out there and so far interest in the site has been disappointing".

Last year Dash was asked about his motivation behind his latest business venture, Blocksavvy and replied, "Money." When asked to elaborate, he then turned to Kareem Burke, who explained, "After MySpace sold for $580 million, we said, damn, we gotta get us some of that."….
