I was listening to 106.5 The Buzz and that Snow song "Informer" came on, so i was giggin to the track right. but on the 3rd verse, i bet money that Bizzy Bone / Bone Thugs stole Snow's whole style and twisted that shit into something else..

Check out the 3rd verse and tell me that aint bone thugs.

There is an eternal debate about the origin of Bone's style, particularly the "fast rap" style. There are many variations of this style, but ever since Bone blew the fuck up with indecipherable syllables and meshed "harmony" everybody either embraced or disgraced it...

Fuck!

Snow is not a runaway success story. He had one good song and used quasi-reggae, double time, nonsensical phrases to get recognition and popularity. (Just like Bizzy Bone in particular, and although not as fast, Sean Paul, as well) But, can we say Snow "invented" that style? No... it does go way back.. even to those kids that made that "Pass the dutchie on the left hand side" track (Musical Youth) that Bone flipped on "Faces of Death"

Here it is...

Three 6 did it wicked and hard as fuck and wasn't recognized.
Do or Die, did it and added a pimp twist.
Twista did it and got a World Record for it.
Tech N9ne added rock to it and opera and made it beyond hardcore.
Busta, Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie and tons of other MC's bit the style after and actually did a good job.
Crucial Conflict were barnyard Bone clones (let's be real).

But the heralded Bone thugs-n-harmony made a song about Eazy-E's death and the whole world bows...? I love that song btw, but why was it just them and not everyone else?

Remember when crunk blew up and EVERYBODY who did that style of shit music blew up too?
Why was it different with fast-rap?

Now I believe Tech N9ne and Twista can fade ANYONE on that fast tip, period.

My dime and a nickel...

The funniest/craziest/ironic thing about this is, after 15 years we're still talking about this. I remember having this same conversation in Middle school. Damn, it's been a minute. I'll be 27 next month.

On the real, I hope Bone' new album is ill. The last few were kinda soft.

Bc alot of people on here are either stuck in the past or just now getting hip to music from back in the day bc they didnt listen to rap back then.

Those LA cats lay claim to Bone's style... Freestyle Fellowship said they invented the 'chop'... And Bone ran with it after Easy E took the group to the Goodlife... Who knows...? Kane used to do those compound syllable/triplet runs but only for a few bars... The Originators (Jay-Z & Jaz-O) were also early pioneers of that style...... I think it's prolly one of those things that happend in a couple of different places at the same time... But I know Snow's corny ass didn't pioneer a f*ckin' thing...

Ok....Bone's first album, Faces of Death dropped in '93 too so that proves nothing.

You failed imma prove you wrong check this out.

If you was down and knew the truth you would know faces of death was a rare local release in cleveland only from 1993. shit was rereleased to the public in 1995 two weeks before east 1999 dropped.

Bone didnt even use they fast style on that faces of death either except flow motion where krayzie and layzie bone used a fast style but not like they shit after that.

listen to the video below the fu Snickens song below from 1991 and video dropped 1992 and you will see the second rapper used that speed style before bone did on that flow motion so did twista.
