Yeah, if you read most of the negative reviews they seem to be because the critic says the kids won't get it then saying the actual movie is bad. Spike Jonez said that the movie is about BEING a kid and not really AIMED at kids. It seems most movie critics think if a movie is G or PG then it must be automatically for kids which is retarded.
I'm going to go see it. I loved the book as a kid. And it's ironic cause my boss told me on Wednesday that I'm like a big fucking kid, and I said something about my never letting my inner child go away lol.

Yeah, I'm off Monday and I want to watch the rest.

Everyone I know who has seen it loved it but said it's just a great movie but like someone else said doesn't have much "direction" to it. It's just about a kid being a kid and what comes along with that. There is no real antagonist in the movie or developing storyline to it from what I'm told.

exactly thats what I didnt like about it. I kept expecting that and it never came which made me not love the movie. Its still pretty good.

It felt, at sometimes, like one of those weird Soprano dream episodes. Especially with James Gandolphini as Carol.

The puppets and scenery which I saw was amazing. I'm really into cinematography and set designs and the such so that's what I'm looking forward to seeing the most because it just looked really weird (in a good way, IMO) like you said.

The movie was boring as fuck... I loved the book growing up and so did my parents but this doesn't live up to the hype.

After the movie I was so disappointed that we all snuck into see Law Abiding Citizen, that made up for it.

Should've Stuck to the original story

^^^ You are like only the second person I've heard said they didn't like it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Honestly when was the last time you "read" the book? There isn't really much story to go off of and the movie would have been like 10 minutes long lol.

I watched Law Abiding Citizen like 2 months ago before we had to press screen it and that movie was fucking hot garbage. What did you think about it?

WTWTA focused on the monsters problems vs Max's.

Law Abiding Citizen was good to a certain point... as soon as I found it was one guy solo dolo sneaking in and out of prison I was like that's gay. Would've been more profound if there was an elaborate behind the scenes government program executing those killings. Like the spy said... that guy was the brain, he doesn't do killings. :ermm:

Just saw it today....definitely not PG worthy IMO. It seemed very adult for what was going on, but the kids I were with actually really liked it.

I thought it was cool. The puppets/CGI were absolutely stunning and each "monster" had their own little quirk which was cool.

I thought it was a great movie but it was kind of a downer. I feel like I just broke up with someone or something. Pretty damn sad movie and I agree with the too intense for PG rating comment. I don't have any kids but if you do take that into consideration.
