ALL I CAN SAY IS I HATE SHANNAHAN BUT I JUST WANNA TELL HIM THANX FOR FUCKING US OVER LAST WEEK AND GIVING US THE IDEA TO FUCKER OVER THE BROWNS.WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.I GUESS KIFFIN DOES KNOW WHAT HES DOING AND AS FOR THE DOLPHINS IF THE RAIDERS GOTTA DO THE SAME SHIT IN MIAMI TOO THEY WILL. Im a die hard Raider fan....and alot of people were saying denver cheated, and now that we do it its all good....Ive noticed most raider fans have no clue whats going on....And when i went to the Detroit game some dude was telling me to stop cursin...What the hell is going on here? I hope J. Russell does big things for us....It looks like another long season, despite the win!! I hope im wrong though...The fuck we cant watch home games for, this shit is startin to piss me off.....Im frustrated with the raiders man.....

I guarantee you that 99% of the time a coach in that situation will call a timeout just like the raiders did and just like Denver did. It's nothing new, in fact it's very common.
Anytime a team has a timeout to burn and the other team is getting ready to kick the winning FG, they will call a timeout right before the snap. It makes the kicker have to set up and settle in again, regain his focus, and on top of that it makes the situation set in for him which provides more pressure to make the kick.. It's called icing the kicker, everybody does it whenever they have the opportunity. It's not as uncommon as you think.. Matter of fact, it probably happens every single week. Good kickers never get iced, so a lot of the time it's unsuccessful. If you don't understand that then you don't know football like you think you do.

I don't think the Raider's fans are complaining that he called the timeout, what I am mad about is the timing of the timeout, the ball had already been snapped.
I am well aware of icing the kicker, it happens all the time. The timeout is always called around the 1-2 seconds left mark. What Shannahan did was wait until 0-1 second left, after the ball had been snapped.
I wonder if Oakland would have been able to challenge the exact time the timeout was called. I think it would have been up to the booth though.
