Are you just taking a weight gainer or are you training?

If you just take a weight gainer, and don't work out, what's the point? Your just wasting your money on a supplement your not utilizing.

With that being said, Muscle Milk is an expensive choice, so I do hope you are training. Take it pre-workout, and post-workout, and if you want you can have a scoop before bed.

If your not training, don't waste money on supplements!

Gaining weight is real simple, you consume more calories than you expend in a day. However, try to make those calories, quality calories, not junk.

If your not gaining weight, you simply are not eating enough calories. Each week up the amount of caloric intake by 100, until you start gaining, then level it off.

Peace

^I am training. I work out evry week about 3 or 4 days a week. I knw evrything comes with work. & when I work out, I do an intense workout. But my body type is thin & since my metabolism is very VERY high, I seem to burn all the calories off so I gain muscle, but never get the thicker look. So I plan on working out with the help of these & eating more will get me a little more thicker.

thats alotta cardio for someone thats tryna gain weight...i would either cut the cardio or basketball since it basically the same thing...if ur tryin to get thicker, sit ups and dips aint gonna do it.. i aint sayin take it out of ur routine, but u wanna target bigger muscles...u wanna go with more weight and lower reps...and thats way too many sets too...try adding dead lifts and squats into ur regimen

^Wow, makes sense now that I sit here & think about it. So your saying I should do less sets but with heavier weights? How many sets of how many do you think I should do?

I'm guessing you're just now getting into weight lifting. Like someone on here has already mentioned, cut the cardio if your goal is to bulk up. You don't need to do any more then 3-5 min of cardio as a warm up before lifting.

Also, if your goal is to bulk up, I highly recommend Hypertrophy Specific Training program. Someone on this board recommended the program to me a few years ago, and I have followed it ever since and have gained a lot of bulk. This program is great if your goal is to bulk up. Even when I stopped lifting for a few months, I was able to gain 5-10 lbs within the first month of the program.

Keep in mind, diet has A LOT to do with it. I have fast metabolism just like you, so I also have to eat around 3500 calories a day. Lots of tuna, salmon, chicken. Lots of whey protein. You should be getting 1.5-2 grams of protein for each pound of body weight. The weight gainer protein shakes really helped me out at the start. But as someone on here mentioned, you can make your own, and it is a lot cheaper and healthier. Throw in 2 scoops of whey protein (about 250 calories), 3-6 tablespoons of peanut butter (300-600 calories), banana (about 100calories), apple (about 100calories), 1/2 cup of almonds or cashes (about 300calories) and even 2/3 cup of oats (around 300 calories). Throw in LOTS of ice, and just gulp it down. ESPECIALLY AS A POSTWORK OUT MEAL!! You can tweak the ingredients to suit your own taste, but you get the idea.

Here is the link to the Hypertrophy Specific Training program. It may seem confusing at first, but do the reading and follow it, and I gaurantee you will bulk up in no time.

Good luck.

Also, use www.bodybuilding.com religiously lol. They have great articles, and also message boards. You will learn a lot.

my bad the big jugs (4.4lbs) is around 45-50 bucks and Pro Complex has 55grams! Your suppose to have 1g per pound you weigh so 55g per serving aint bad. say you weigh 150. you only have to drink 3 servings and if you go with the other brands that have 20gs. you gotta drink more. this shit is good. if you get it i recommend the Rocky Road flavor. shits good and dont taste like medicine like the other brands i took.

55gs WTF? Unless this kid is yoked like Ron Coleman then he don't need 55 grams per a serving, that is way too fucking much. first off noway any protien shake/ meal replacement shake shoud ever be where the majority of your protein come from, solid foods is what you need, shakes are only to get you the extra protein you lack from your already diet. You want to space out your intakes....your body isn't going to properly digest that much protein, you need to limit it to around 30 grams unless of course you are 260lbs and at 8% body fat. lol You are correct about the 1g-1.5gs per 1lb of body weight but.... 30 grams per intake is what the body can properly digest with 3-4 hours, any excessive protein intake would be a waste unless you already big in size. Also you do NOT want any protein shakes to be where you are getting the majority of your protein from. Protein Shake are only to supplement what you aren't already getting from your diet. I can't stress that enough, especially to beginners. Your diet should include protein rich "clean" foods like tuna, egg whites, chicken.

Myself I am 215lbs and at 8% body fat. I am a little bigger so I get roughly 40 grams of protein with each meal (6 meals a day) 2 of the meals including shakes, the other 4 being solid foods. I take my shakes 1 when I get up and 1 after my workout which is around mid day.

What does your training split look like and what are your stats weight, height bf% ext...?

Eat eggs.....The whole fucking egg. -- Keep in mind that saying that the cholesterol is bad for you is like saying being a Vegetarian/Vegan will make you frail and weak. It's incorrect. You just have to know what you're doing and what you're eating.

Protein powders, grab whatever. Doesn't really matter. Something cheap will do the trick just as much as the gimmick products that cost twice as much and have 150 add-ins thrown in.

Glutamine, Creatine, NO3....all good stuff to have. But if you're asking weightlifting questions on this forum, there's a 99% chance you don't need all that right now anyways.
