a lot of west coast artists, especially bay area artists, don't have their business in order to become "mainstream artists." often, local/independent/upcoming artists let things and/or people get in the way of the bigger picture. so, with that said ... tell cats to get their business in order and the right people in their corner.
Thats true, but also I think the motivation isnt there to even put forth the effort to break into "mainstream". Especially if your from the bay, all your favorite rappers werent mainstream, guys like Quinn, and Mac Dre, etc etc have done all they have without a major label or heavy radio play or MTV. I think a lot of people from the bay are content with being "bay rappers" and I dont mean that in a negative way. I can only think of a handful of bay artists that honestly have their eyes on major attention, guys like Cognito come to mind, maybe even AP.9 guys if given the oppurtunity could/would be willing to make an impact with a mainstream album.

SUPER SURPRISED TO HEAR IT, BUT REALLY THOUGH THE DALLAS SCENE GOT SOME HOT STUFF COMING OUT (TUM TUM, BIG CHIEF, BIG TUCK). I KNOW FAB AND A LOT OF OTHER BAY ARTISTS MESS WITH DALLAS AND THEY GIVE THE BAY LUV TOO, KINDA THE HYPE DANCE TYPE ISH THAT THE BAY WAS ON.

JUST GOOD TO HEAR SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN JUST R&B, DON'T HEAR ANYONE COMPLAINING THAT TOO MANY NEW ORLEANS RAPPERS (WAYNE) ARE ON THE RADIO...
