Ok So I hear there is a spiritual force called Karma out there.. that whatever you do or say comes back to...

So like if you curse or hex someone that shit will come back to you.. or if you kick someone's ass it comes back and manifests somehow..

Do you believe in Karma.. and do you think Karma is the reason the bible says do unto others as you want like to be done to you?

discuss!

yeah, unless the karmic scale was already tipped negatively in their favor, otherwise your doing karmas dirty work.. if that person had an asswhoopin comin, you do not have to fear any repercussions..

Karma requires belief in reincarnation. True or false?
False, it also means one's fate or destination. I am a believer in Karma, not the reincarnation part, but the meaning where you control your destiny according to your work. You all obviously know I'm a Christ Follower(Well I try to be as best as I can) and I believe he has predestined your fate/destination. Since we don't know where we go, we live our lives for him and in doing so reserves a mansion in heaven for us.

Simple answer, Yes.

WAIT? Did you say a MANSION??? Wow I am glad I am trying to be good now!

I bet alot more people would follow christ if they knew they'd be getting a Mansion.. that's off the hook!!!

Thank you. And thanks for the convenient contradiction at the end lol:)

Anyone have a different take?

Well, I was only half-joking, hence the little smiley. But, if by "yes" at the end of your post, you meant "true", then you contradicted yourself because you first said "false". Whether it was a simple or "complex" response, the answer should have been the same. But I think you meant that under different interpretations of what karma is, then it can be either true or false.

Can I ask where your idea of karma came from?

The Word is derived from the Buddhist and Hindu meanings, not necessarily the term. So you could say that maybe the Word came from the Buddhists and Hindus, not the term though. Which is why I believe in Karma.

The Sanskrit word 'karma', in it's traditional context, accompanies the concept of reincarnation, but in itself deals with the actions and reactions on both a physical and moral platform.

To put it simply for those who are more familiar with Christian terminology, karma is the application and repercussions of sin. There is really no such thing as "good" karma. What is considered "good" is defined by one's limited, subjective understanding. In the larger scope of reality, even so-called "good" karma is bad because it means that one remains attached to this world of birth, death, old age and disease. This correlates with the Christian concept that one is not saved by their works.

You are more on some new-age, pagan wicca version of "karma". Karma does not pertain directly to "curses" or "hexes". Karma can have slightly different definitions depending on it's context, but as it is commonly used it generally refers to action and reaction within the scope of material activities. By "material activities" I mean, those actions that pertain to the bodily conception of life and which further entangle one in this material world.

Causing harm to another will have a karmic reaction, but not necessarily one that is immediate.

THIS IS A DEBATE ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD LOOK TOWARDS.

concerning this, i had once asked all the christians "who is better in gods eyes? the sinner christian or the pious muslim who doesnt ever harm anybody based on his intention?

and stockton had replied "the pious muslim"

thats the right answer, but this means, its not what belief system one believes that dictates that person, but his intent throughout his whole life that proves where one stands, a good or "bad" man.

so shit, i can be a pious muslim, buddhist, hindu, and STILL get into heaven.
this is not very hard to see.

is simply accepting jesus gonna ensure heaven? or is accepting jesus' morals or even morals above those of jesus.

basically, be good and you succeed. fucka label, fucka class, and fuck a name
