What is your thought process when you're making up a song ? Do you pay close attention to the whole concept of the song or are you mainly trying to rhyme the words ? Are you trying to rap about something other than guns, drugs and bitches ? What new sound are you trying to bring to the game ? Do you follow the fads in rap or do you mainly make music for a specific target group ?

When I;m writing a rap I like to deal with relationships and things that haven't been said a hundred times in rap. I try to do more than just rhyme the words but if I'm targeting radio I do try to simplify the words I use because radio doesn't really play things too lyrical but just songs that are catchy and kids can sing to. I personally have never rapped about drugs but I have done plenty of songs about bitches and maybe one or two about shooting fools. My new sound is under development so I don't want to let the cat out of the bag but I do notice that hardcore Bay Area music fans don't really dig my music but people in foreign countries like Germany can dig it. I do my best to not follow trends in rap because that's what feeds into music getting old fast and I want to make songs like Freaks of The Industry that never get old. The group that I have targeted nowadys are females from 16 to 34 because like Pac said you have to rap for the bitches if you want the niggas to buy it.

^ i respected that about his album...each song was VERY creative and ther album titled said it all....ya'll did that one.

im not a rapper, but i do write....and truthfully...once the doja gets in me it just comes...i write what comes tomind and whats real to me and what im experiencing in mylife...it just happens to rhyme at times and other tend to be able to relate...
of course this is a lot different then songwriting.....and maybe thats what seperates me from "rappers" but i dont considermyself a writer, rapper or musician even.....its just a way to vent or release anger,stress,emotions....etc..
im sure if i were to pass my books to a rapper songwriter or otherwise im sure someone with the right voice and skill in musical arrangement (breaking it inbars and giving it a tempo) couldmake a good damn album out of it...
although i wasnt blessed with any musical ability other than a good ear for it.....i do have good writing skills and have been told many times i should rap.....but its just not for everyone...as the bay has proven time and time again.

perhaps if i were to concentrate more on it and develop a individual voice/style its possible....but rappers are like pimps ... they're born and not made...IMO

*goes to Northern ridaz to hear malices album..

werd, every single thing is played out; even rappin bout relationships.. that's prolly most played out presently. As far as my song writing process; a lot of my shit comes to me while I'm at work. I load trucks, and when it FINALLY slows down I'll jus sit there and start thinking and rhymin til I come up wit a concept... then I'll try to formulate verses or hooks and remember that shit til I get home. I like to do a lot of story tellin wit symbolism and shiet but don't nobody wanna hear that type of shit so I really just keep those joints to myself. Let the homies peep the less abstract shit nah mean. But freal, shit can come at any time... I can be driving and just start thinking of a topic and then I'll freestyle on it to myself until I get a decent concept... by the time I get my notebook I pretty much got the song well drafted so I can usually get it written down as soon as I open tha notebook. I don't like to do half of a song and then be like "fuck it, I'ma finish this up later" cuz then u loose that mood ynah mean. A lot of shit I've been writing lately is like heritage oriented... Like I made a song about Korean history, and after that faggot William Hung came out wit his record I made a song about America's stereotypes of Asians. I been trynna get more into that area...
