What is your thought process when you're making up a song ? Do you pay close attention to the whole concept of the song or are you mainly trying to rhyme the words ? Are you trying to rap about something other than guns, drugs and bitches ? What new sound are you trying to bring to the game ? Do you follow the fads in rap or do you mainly make music for a specific target group ?
When I;m writing a rap I like to deal with relationships and things that haven't been said a hundred times in rap. I try to do more than just rhyme the words but if I'm targeting radio I do try to simplify the words I use because radio doesn't really play things too lyrical but just songs that are catchy and kids can sing to. I personally have never rapped about drugs but I have done plenty of songs about bitches and maybe one or two about shooting fools. My new sound is under development so I don't want to let the cat out of the bag but I do notice that hardcore Bay Area music fans don't really dig my music but people in foreign countries like Germany can dig it. I do my best to not follow trends in rap because that's what feeds into music getting old fast and I want to make songs like Freaks of The Industry that never get old. The group that I have targeted nowadys are females from 16 to 34 because like Pac said you have to rap for the bitches if you want the niggas to buy it.
