I never understood the hype behind Couture.

The UFC game for Dreamcast got me into the sport, then I forgot about it for a while, then I got back into it again a little before the 1st TUF. I must have missed what made him so great

Your mother is an astronaut

Here's a question:

Was that early UFC logo (the one that I can't find a pic of with the dude standin there with a belt on) supposed to be him?

Nah, Randy didn't fight in the UFC until UFC 13.

If that logo was based on anyone it looks the most like Bas Rutten.

He got armbarred by Enson, Enson was in Red Belt and had the super world title thing and gave it to the Brazilian guy after he choked out the guy who was supposed to be one of the Gracies, Randy was an announcer in the movie, ergo Randy is the GOAT.

I always liked Chuck more than Randy back when they were fighting each other, but it was cool when Randy came back and beat the shit out of Gonzaga and Sylvia. I don't know why they resigned him for 6 fights when I have a hard time thinking of 1 that could be built up right now.

I think he should retire, he doesnt need to prove anything else. I don't wanna see him still tryin to fight younger guys, just to lose.. kinda like Royce Gracie.

He's 46, a Hall of Famer, and has held titles in two different weight classes (Light-Heavyweight and Heavyweight). What more could he possibly have to prove? I mean, if he still thinks he has gas in the tank, fuck it! I say go for it.

Wouldn't mind seein' him as a commentator. At least then, he'd still be involved in MMA in some capacity.

I figure once you reach Hall of Fame status, regardless of the sport, you've pretty much cemented your legacy.

I know he signed the extension before the Nog fight, but I think his performance in the fight proved that he hasn't lost much, or at least still has what it takes to be competitive at an elite level, even at his age.

Shit, he lost to Brock, but before catching the lunchbox to the grill, wasn't doing too bad.

Why not keep fighting? As long as Randy isn't getting completely embarrassed I say make as much money off your name as possible. There's still some fights that he can win out there. He doesn't need to prove anything to anyone except to his bank account. Get it while it's there ..

Id like to see him finish his career at 205 maybe have another 2-3 fights @ heavyweight. Henderson vs Couture would be a sweet fight to end both careers....

^ That doesn't sound like a bad idea, but I think Hendo earned the next shot at Spider.

Although, Marquardt-Hendo would be a good one.
