IM CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT MAKES YOU THE FANS/ARTISTS WANT TO PURCHASE OR LISTEN TO A CD? IS IT WHAT THE ARTIST IS SPEAKIN ON, THE BEATS, THE PRODUCTION, OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT ALL TOGETHER.

if its a new aritst i have never heard of in my life..
cover art..
features
producers
if thats on point then i will give the new artist a chance..

established artists...
how many tracks on the album..
producers...
but thank god for FYE cuz i be listening before i buy..cuz everything could be on point and the shit is still boo boo lol...
on point meaning producers, good amount tracks and features...
its a gamble...
but overall i go for lyrical ability and skill and prodcution

Features dont get me runnin to buy the newest shit.Beats gotta be slumpin if its an artist i usualy dont buy.Artists i been feelin thruout the years get bought automaticly cuz im a fan of that particular artist.Sometimes if the cover art is crazy..Like Numps cover or Da Us Open cover.Funny shit like that makes me wanna hear what they have to offer.Covers that look like everyone elses turn me off,i figure the music probably sounds the same to.I like it when cats aint afraid to do something different.

For me it depends on how the artist/promo is presented to me. I tend to respect rappers more that I "See" on they grizzy. I've reached a point to where I don't compare artist that don't want to be compared. If you say you the "Best"... than you deserve the criticism and negative response you may get. If you are just doing "You"... than can't nobody be better than you already are. So I like those that I can tell are comfortable in they own skin. They don't lookin the mirror and hope they turn into a Jay-Z or Keak The Sneak. Some people do a bad job of trying to be and live other people's lives... so they really wanna win Oscar's rather than Grammy's!

i know people wont agree with me but i can usually look at a cover and be able to tell if the cd is any good.If it has a underground type cover its usually good 90% of the time.if its being promoted a lot i wont buy the album cause most of the time the more a cd is being promoted the worst the cd is.Why else would they need so much promotion for a cd.Almost every cd ive seen that has a lot of promotion im usually disappointed with.

I usually go on the artists past track record then word of mouth, most the time I want to hear it before I buy it especially with the underground stuff coming out nowadays cuz 95% on that shit is garbage.
