lol @ this thread

Miggidy I commend you for at least stating your case in a civilized way (without "fuck the east coast beeeyatch" type shit) but the fact remains that you're grossly generalizing an entire coast on a handful of artists/songs you've heard. I was the same way when I was younger but grew to appreciate the artists you listed as "wack as fuck" when I started opening my mind to shit other than bay/LA shit. Like someone else said "just because you don't like it doesn't mean its wack".
I have nothing against the East Coast or New York rappers for that matter. So you ain't gonna hear me say fuck them just cuz I don't like them.

It's just that by some chance, these cats focus too much on their lyrics that they forget how to throw it in a song.
The East Coast rappers of old weren't like that. Some where along the line folks dropped the ball and forgot what rap "music" was all about.
If something is tight, I'll be the first to admit but damn some shit just be on some crazy shit.

I guess the difference lies in what you guys consider a dope rapper. Personally and millions others, we can care less how good a rappers lyrics are, or how good his production is, if his delivery of that content is weak then the whole thing is weak.
You and other cats who like their shit are able to look past that shit, and that's good for you.
But for us, it just doesn't cut it.

Atlantic did a very bad job with Dubee and Ray Luv, they never got any play outside of the Bay.
Ray Luv had a video on MTV and his album was out everywhere, if people don't feel it outside of the Bay there's not really anything Atlantic can do. It looks like they gambled on a different kind of music and lost.

From what Khayree said himself, Atlantic never wanted Ray Luv to begin with. They were interested in Mac Mall and maybe Dubee if I can remember.
But anyhow, I can't speak for Dubee as his debut was good.
But nothing compared to Illegal Business? which came out independently. And there were cats lovin that shit in the Mid West and South.

Right on people for giving me your feedback, this thread was directed at cats who ain't feelin East Coast shit in general.
Somehow all the East Coast fans of BART decided to deffend their favorite MC's LOL!

Reason behind this is cuz I've discussed this shit to some East Coast fans and they just don't seem to get it.
Much like the cats in here....
I was beginning to think it was just me but I knew there's a shit load of men (not chicks) who ain't diggin that East Coast stuff.
I know my personal reasons and I wanted to know yours as well. And what do you know? Ya'll don't like them for the very same reasons that I don't....
Coincedence? LOL! not at all....

miggidy u have no fucking argument here...all ur saying is that u dont like them because they are weak...everything is a matter of opinion....just because u think they are weak doesnt mean they are....just because i like the wu tang doesnt mean that they are tight...

i dont even know how to debate this topic with you....and im not even saying i like all east coast shit...but i do like wu tang and nas at the least....

but once again....saying someone is wack because u dont like them isnt a very good argument....and i you say that millions agree with u that they are wack...well there are also millions that think they are tight...

Maybe I need to rephrase that question,
what makes today's East Coast artists so weak?

I've been havin this convo with some East Coast cats over in another forum and I can't seem to make them understand why everyone else thinks their artists are wack.

They named cats like Mob Deep, Wu Tang, Killarmy, Nas, etc. And I told them they were wack as hell and explained that it's because of their shitty production coupled with their dreaded New York flow. And that's where they got caught up in, "what dreaded New York flow?".
We've all heard it, the boring, too laid back lazy, sounds like they're talking flow. It sounds a lot like modern poetry and not "music"....
In my opinion, it is this flow style that makes these cats so wack.

What do you guys think?
Some how these East Coast cats don't understand what I'm stressin but to me it is clearer than water.
Specially when you compare the good East Coast artists with the wack ones. For instance, Cuban Link. His style is more of a West Coast type. Actually, it wouldn't be fair to call it a West Coast type of flow. It should be called a non-New York style flow. Cuz from what I've heard so far, Mid West and Southern cats sound similar to West Coast artists and vice versa.
It is the East Coast artists who have this unique but wack ass flow....
miggidy..u keep stressin that this post was for folks who aint feelin east coast rap..but yet..this original post says nothin of the sort..this post was made to everyone...so u get everyones opinion...u dont like east coast rap..thats coo...but u keep talkin bout theres millions of cats who feel like u..but yall seem to be the minority of this post...imagine how many folks outside the bart forum also feel how we do....there is tight shit on the east..u dont live there so u dont even get 10% of the shit thats flows thru the streets..unlike over here u get to hear a large percentage of it..so u naturally have a biased opinion.. for the most part i dont even like east coast rap..but i know thats only becuz i was born of a west coast breed..i can still appreciate there talent and admit i feel some of it
