hes really the 1 whos realy tring to go mainstrem so i support wit his tapes i mean he puts music out dubb20, b.banga, willie hen, and even lock are better rappers than y.b. but go two years before i hear a verse on a song or d/l a single
y.b., quinn, jacka, wax, yuk are dope because either the amont of quality music they release or the stuff they have realesed is good enough to last more than 1 year

^^^IMO Willie Hen B.Banga dubb20 don't hold a candle to YB as far as punchlines and metaphors. They are all very good song makers which Ya Boy has to work on, but aside from Locksmith and a few other cats, Ya Boy is in a league of his as far as pure spitting.

LMAO Boo Banger ain't about no metaphors and punchlines. Boo Banger don't rap like that be real. That's not his style. Show me a B.Banger line that's filled with punchlines and metaphors. I can post song after song where YB is spitting like that.

I'm not going to read through all the replies, but I am going to add my little input. When Ya Boy first came out, I thought he was nice. The Chapter 1 Mixtape was nice. After that he turned into some hard gangster type rapper. That's cool and all, but that's just boring to me. None of his mixtapes really do anything for me and they sound exactly the same. It seemed to me that he was trying to separate himself from the Bay Area label and try to build his own hype in LA. Unfortunately it didn't pan out and now he has to make "songs" that are wack to try to get a buzz and it ain't working.

boo banger has some punchlines and metaphors on this song

and as far as ya boy goes

he is a talented rapper... but his music is boring to me now

when ROY came out I was very impressed... I was also hella feelin Chapter 1 The Rise... but all his music at this point sounds the same

I still bump his shit occasionally... but he needs to become more diverse with his flow... topics... and choice of production as well

LOL it's a cool little verse but nothing to the creative punchlines that YB comes up with. Be real yall I ain't tooted YB's horn I'm just telling the truth. I agree 100% that his music sounds the same and bores me at times....but he's still the Bay's best chance of getting an MC on the national stage.

Does Ya Boy really have tons of great punchlines though?

his rhyming ability is his best asset... he can put together some really good multi syllable rhymes

but I can't recall a lot of really creative punchlines or metaphors... can you point some out to me?
