I just heard the news about woodie yesterday. I just wanna say that he was one of the realest people to ever speak his mind. He was a great artist and he knew all about the street life. Woodie will forever be missed and never be forgotten. Does anyone know what happened to him?

I disagree. WOODIE was in the public eye, he was an entertainer/artist/businessman. Alot of these cats on here connected to him, idolized him, and loved him for whatever reason because they felt a connection to his pain, and his struggle thru his music. So to be hush-hush about how he passed is detrimental to his memory, due to the fact that when folks dont know, then rumors get started. Then people will have to defend his legacy and his whole get down against some rumor that some hating ass cat started that is entirely UNTRUE. His fans DO deserve to know what happened. After all they are what made East Coco records what it was, throught there love for the music and them buying the music that they love, from the man, the role-model that they loved. Yes, I do agree there is a proper time to let the public know, while letting the family and loved ones grieve over the loss. This is why when a major celebrity passes they are quick to say how and why, because rumors are vicious. A strong lie always beats out a weak truth.

Any word on services for him?

I never knew Woodie personally but I followed his music and career closely since '99 and came to really respect and admire him. His music was deep and genuine and I could tell he really put his heart into it. For me, it's important to have some closure and know what happened. I agree with Big Reese Loc that keeping the circumstances of Woodie's death secret would be detrimental to his memory and would encourage rumors. I hope that when the time is right, his loved ones can share some details with us.

Yeah that`s the point about it - Let the family some time....
Familiy allways comes first ... I just don`t get why people speculate or bring up rumors. All we know right now is nothing - so don`t act up like you guys know for a fact this and that...

Nobody was meant personal

All i wan`t 2 say is "Think about his family - what it`s like when they show up and read stuff like "I heard his Wigg was split by a $crap and stuff like that like in other posts"

Really, It doesnt matter how he Passed.... He did and thats it. I know People want answers and in due time they will be given. Bottom line, A "MAN"...a "HUMAN" life has passed on.I dont wish Death on Nobody. But we live in "REALITY" and sometimes its a "HARSH" Reality that we No Matter what, have to accept and move forward in life. These are things that the Lord has Planned for us..It is and was Written in our Stone Tablets of Trials and Tribulations. God Bless his family and Close friends.. WOODIE... you are in my Prayers.

I was wondering what happened to Woodie myself, but never bothered to ask because I knew the response would be similar to this. Or some garbage responses like "If you don't know, you don't need to know." That type of shit is lame. It's not that big of a deal if I find out how or why he died, but like Reese said.. If the truth doesn't come out soon, the rumors will start circulating. And once that happens, they will overpower the truth. Look what happened with Speedy Loc.. Everyone thinks he was murdered by scraps.

Anyway, it's whatever.

RIP Woodie

3rdEyeVision and all others reading this:

If WOODIE had been shot and killed, then you would have 5,000,000 posts on here about what happened, how it happened, where it happened, who folks think did it, etc... -BUT- Since it aint the "gangsta" way, its on the hush hush. Again, you got folks on this site that loved that cat, they at least deserve more then what they getting. I gotta give it up to Siccness Kid for opening up and setting the record straight on his cousins behalf.

I see you FATAL, you feel me on that

agreed....
ECCR records seemed to be going stagnet for a while. Everyone kept driftifting further and further apart. It started to seem like the music was forced.
R.I.P WOODIE!!!!!!!!!!
