If you're a producer or make beats, i'm just curious to know what u use? I fu got samples or snippets that would be dope. I use a korg triton le 66 hooked up to some bullshit speakers. I mainly use my headphones though. Its just something i do for fun. If u dont have nuthin what is out there that is good for makin beats?

I use:
MPC 2000XL
KORG TRITON
REASON 3.0
PRO-TOOLS
TURNTABLE AND RECORDS....
THAT WORKS FINE FOR ME... is all up to you really... if you're computer literate.. you can fuck with some tight software such as Reason 3.0, Fruityloops, Acid Pro, Cubase... etc... If you're more into hardware and dont wanna be clicking your ass off... the Triton LE is cool... I think you can sample on that shit right? If so, sample drums... Get your own drums sounds from where ever you can... That will help... Monitors are very important man... Make sure your sound in decent... Look into getting some KRK's... they run cheap... I hope that was helpful man... out

i get all those same results with pro-tools..a synthesizer I got from priceclub and a roland drum machine...i also from time to time use a beat making program that allows me to sample any thing or any drum kit and use the keys like my roland..its actually eaiser to use..but basically you can get professional results with out having to spend alot of money..some famous producers can do it all with sampling on thier laptop without even a drum machine or synth...Ive seen a million times...it all depends on the right combo for you..

You probably right but statements like this usually come from someone who cant get what majority of top level producers use....so lets hear one of them beats you make and get same results with your price club set-up.

No, you don't need a Mac to run Pro Tools and no you don't need DigiDesign hardware. Pro Tools now works with several M-Audio products also. There's been a lot of improvement in the MIDI aspect of PT in version 7.0+ but it's still primarily a harddisk-based multitracker. Meaning it's focus is on recording, not music composition.

To the person who said this:
"i get all those same results with pro-tools..a synthesizer I got from priceclub and a roland drum machine"

and

"some famous producers can do it all with sampling on thier laptop without even a drum machine or synth...Ive seen a million times..."

I'd love to hear & see the proof. And I'd love for you to name just one "famous producer" who does everything inside a laptop without even the use of a single keyboard or anything. I either work with or know plenty of "famous producers" and I can't do it so I'm real curious to see what name will come out of your mouth seeing as you're not even involved in the music business (to my knowledge). And especially since you claim to "have seen it a million times."
