my advice for you is stay away from filters/brushes. If you use them, dont let them be the basis for your designs/art.

as far as camera/photography goes, not sure if your camera allows much flexibility from the looks of it, it doesnt.. but nothing you cant adjust in photoshop/lightroom.

You got any questions just ask, im always down to help people anyway i can or point you in the right direction.

And that's not gunna help him get any better.... at least tell him some tips. Ya discuss is right... Filters are a big no no. Only use them in moderation.. I rarely use filters.

And check out psdtuts.com They have good tuts on there..

I was just testing to see how it would look if i make it cartoonish, and i liked it.

Well the camera i have is from a Samsung cellphone, but it takes some pretty decent pics, i have taken some really good ones from this phone, but thats my opinion.
