Well, it's been some years since Mikal sold them for $35 and prices do go up and down. If there are many available the prices go down and if there are few available the price increase. I haven't seen it for many years, but then again, I haven't been looking on a daily basis. Wonder what it goes for this time.
Yes, I got an instant reply from dcboys and he apologized for the wrong description. It seemed like we were going to work things out, but like both you and I have experienced in dealing directly with the artists, many of them seem to take lightly on their promises: plenty of promises but when it comes to actually taking action it's nothing but empty words .... I'll let you know when there's more to this story. I'd like to add that I still have nothing but love for playya 1000 because he is polite in his emails and does not get all hard and foul-mouthed if you have complaints, like some other sellers I know. It's not my style or in my nature to get all pissed in emails, so I hope a decent conversation and agreement will work things out in the best way possible.
Interesting your phrase about your CD being more legit than his. As far as I know he own his own masters so I'll consider it a legit re-release. Anyway, your CD is way more "OG" than mine LOL.
But where goes the line between official and bootleg when an artist represses his own stuff and sells it (out the trunk, on ebay, amazon etc), when the record label owns the masters? In such a case the artist would be releasing unauthorized CDs of his own albums and would be bootleging his own stuff by definition. What do yall think about that? Would you buy such a "bootleg" as long as it's pressed and sold by the artist himself?
