I got my foe-tha-mill-ticket today and it's a re-release not OG as stated in the description. Another annoying thing is that playya1000 copied and used Mr Mikal's description and in that is says that if the total is above $30 international shipping will be sent registered ($10 extra shipping fee). I paid the fucking $10 extra to cover for registered mail and the CD was sent as regular mail.

so I have to admit, I feel quite ripped off, both since the description was incorrect and also because I was charged for registered shipping when it was sent as regular mail.

Those artists seem to be more nonchalant with these things. Everytime I have dealt with one of them on ebay they charged me high shipping and turned around and sent it cheapest way imaginable. Never followed any of my instructions or listened to a damn thing I said. Packed it so bad that it would not have taken much for it to get damaged in transit if it was mishandled. I was even promised an autograph a few times and what a shock I look in there and no autograph. Why even promise me that shit? So if that is playya `1000 that wouldn't be surprising he did that. But lying about what it is is bullshit you need to do something about the situation.

I've dropped him an email, so let's see what he replies, if he replies.

As I said, what matters most is the music and that it's official, but I wouldn't have given as much if I knew that it was a re-release. I was told that it was the OG and based on that I decided to buy it. I guess his reprints will be all over ebay and cdbaby in just a matter of time, way more cheaper.

Morten, if they make it to cdbaby they will probably be at $20-$30 soon. I hope not. But that just isn't right what he did and in my mind you were definitely ripped off. The re-re is only worth about $40 to me. Don't know what anyone else thinks. The og it would have definitely been a good deal though. There is no excuse for them lying to you. I would take it further than you I guarantee it. I could care less if it is the biggest rapper in the world, he ain't going to do me like that.

Yeah the represses are sealed so for a total of $60 I would say it's a good deal. It's not possible to know what the future price of those two will be, but based on the prices of today I'd say it's a fair price for the two CDs

He's got big b and his own foe da mill ticket cd's up again right now on ebay. Same bidders are bidding on them. I'm telling you I can't fathom how that 'Nothin But Game' went to $147 unless it was shilled. That cd went for no more than $35 by Mikal forever and he's one of the most respected sellers on ebay. Playyya 1000 has millions to sell, don't look for them to hold value if this keeps up. Did you get a reply from dcboys errrr playyya 1000 yet morten? I'm betting he could care less if he lied to you or not. Give him a negative and he'll start caring. My 'foe da mill ticket' is more legit than his is lmao because mine truly is og. Gotta love the irony here. Nothing wrong with artists punking themselves out by putting their own stuff up for sale and repressing billions of their own rare cd's just to make a few bucks in the short term. Or is there :) ?

Well, it's been some years since Mikal sold them for $35 and prices do go up and down. If there are many available the prices go down and if there are few available the price increase. I haven't seen it for many years, but then again, I haven't been looking on a daily basis. Wonder what it goes for this time.

Yes, I got an instant reply from dcboys and he apologized for the wrong description. It seemed like we were going to work things out, but like both you and I have experienced in dealing directly with the artists, many of them seem to take lightly on their promises: plenty of promises but when it comes to actually taking action it's nothing but empty words .... I'll let you know when there's more to this story. I'd like to add that I still have nothing but love for playya 1000 because he is polite in his emails and does not get all hard and foul-mouthed if you have complaints, like some other sellers I know. It's not my style or in my nature to get all pissed in emails, so I hope a decent conversation and agreement will work things out in the best way possible.

Interesting your phrase about your CD being more legit than his. As far as I know he own his own masters so I'll consider it a legit re-release. Anyway, your CD is way more "OG" than mine LOL.

But where goes the line between official and bootleg when an artist represses his own stuff and sells it (out the trunk, on ebay, amazon etc), when the record label owns the masters? In such a case the artist would be releasing unauthorized CDs of his own albums and would be bootleging his own stuff by definition. What do yall think about that? Would you buy such a "bootleg" as long as it's pressed and sold by the artist himself?

I wish you luck and keep us posted on it Morten. He should make this right for you if he really cares. I respect the artists themselves and their rights to sell their own music. I just lose respect for them when they "push" it in a way where they target their rarer and more expensive cd's to sell. It just makes them appear desperate to capitalize anyway possible for quick short term bucks. I mean many of them live such a great life with the fame, money, girls, etc. But for them to also do this just cheapens their reputation in my eyes. It borders on the same question we ask ourselves when professional athletes try and claim they don't have any money to pay for child support for babies they had which they want nothing to do with. When in reality they are richer than fuck but yet they can't be a man, pay their share, and do the right thing by their kids and the women they had sex with? That question is 'why'. It just seems people are so hungry for money that they lose sight of reality. And to answer your question, NO I would not buy a bootleg even if it was by artist themselves. It is more a matter of principle. Just like I would never download artists' music off the net and not pay for it.
