Wasn't Zoroastrianism the first recognised monotheistic religion?

I'm stuck on the Torah for the time being, mainly trying to find out exactly who wrote the books (although no-one really knows who wrote most of them) and when they were written. There are many conflicting views regarding this topic, especially because the Talmut often attributes authorship to individuals, when the books they were to have written describe their death, or events which had yet to happen in their lifetimes. Still interesting though.

I'm also looking at the rift between Sunni and Shi'ite muslims - exactly why each of them believe themselves to be the true descendants of Muhammed (From what I can tell, I believe the Shi'ites - Imam Hussan was a blood relative whereas Sunnis attribute their rights based on Muhammeds wife Aishah, not a blood relative).
