lol u might be the only one not feelin butterfly. haha. those beats on i give u my word are on a different level maybe u need to catch up or something. i don't know ha. the album is off the hook, if u aint feeling it and u r being honest then that's fine. u r just in a very small minority of people not liking the album. u might be the only one on this board not feelin it from what i've seen. it's all gravity, it's your opinion

I'll take some kanye influenced beats over some generic recycled played out typical bay beats that a lot of cats like to throw on their shit...

The difference is the speed up sample shit is a style of music that Kanye didn't invent ((even though he act like he did)), but he is getting all of the credit for. So if you use a beat wit a speed up sample in it he gets his credit for it...but in the case of outside artist taking shit from the bay, they try to pass it off as they own and the originators get no credit or respect for what was stolen from them.

oh fareal i know Kanye didn't invent sampling or the pitch bend

i mean RZA and even Muggs had done this over 10 years ago

But its the way it is put together

Those tracks on Quinn wouldnt have been made if Kanye West wasnt as popular as he is, particularly the sped up vocals, they way it is laced is pure R.O.C sound.

but that butterfly song and a few others on the Quinn are lame production wise. I mean sampling old breaks is lazy as fuck, this is why i stopped listenin to East Coast rap.

Its not what i need when i put a Bay cd on, i want that mob shit. Makes me think if it wasnt this type of production that was shipping units Quinn would have had whatever else is popular on his beats.

seems to me production is becoming generic, everybody doin the same fuckin shit all over the world.

Did you hear the Kanye type one on Thug Lordz? made me feel ill, how this shit has infected the West Coast.

i was dissapointed is all, everybody on here claimin this Quinn was the best cd this year, i don' t give a fuck if im on my own here, half the beats on that cd were shitty.

Z-Ro - Life Of Joseph W. Mcvey is the best cd this year (so far at least)

i see your point now. Ur right, they never wouldve done those beats if Kanye hadn't blown it up... I just dont think Kanye should be as credited as he is for it thats all.

I aint heard Thug Lordz or the new Quindo yet. ima try swoop em on ebay cause i aint forkin out 20 odd jib on somethin im hearin is watered down.

To me the Quinn album is tight as hell, don't be mad at dude for trying to catch some attention with a track like Butterfly, god knows Quinn deserves it wit his skills.

These comments are corny as hell, go check the record, since he was a kid Quinn has put out 6 previous CD's including Repo's and Explosive Mode, always for the bay.

Okay Mighty Quinn was lil different, but for the most he has been on heavy beats the whole way, damn he even on five hundred other mob tracks with every next cat.

But he drops a few sugar-sweet beats and already its hate... now THAT is weak... if you been bumping Quinn you'll have got a hundred hard Bay tracks wit him on...

Don't begrudge a man his shine when he tries to extend his music, I don't remember seeing anyone saying Spot In The Shade was weak because it wasn't mob...

...or Live-N-Direct, which to me has always had a kind of jazzy East coast feel to it. Quinn is talented enough to rip any beat, and you want him to stay mobbish forever?

Damn... every track he puts it down for the bay, he has been true to the same style and beats for so many years and so many tracks, and one change and you're mad?

The worst thing is that we in the UK, how are you going to speak on production or trying to be commercial, that all the type of rap you fucking hear in this country.

So for me, I am blessed to hear a rapper of Quinn's calibre spit on ANY beat instead of clowns like 50 Rent who hip hop choose to make popular...

If you don't like the beat, go pick up x amount of CD's he already on, it ain't like San Quinn hasn't delivered hard Bay knocks for years... dude already done it plain & simple...

But everybody want to be the same as the next man, ain't that right Mr 'De Niro'? C'mon now folks... don't sweat Quinn's choice of production when you immitate too.

But I'm just playing... nonetheless Quinn is trying to put the name out there which we all have known for years... you seem to be the only one not feeling that.

And bottom line... everyone else on here got nothing but love, so Quinn must still be doing something right on this one, BART/Siccness folks aren't MTV Generation lol......

It is irrelevent to me what everybody else thinks, these are my opinions

and to a point i see what you are sayin, all the raps on Quinn's shit are tite no question, and sure he been puttin it down for years

but that doesnt mean he has a liscence to make shitty songs

And you know, i don't live in the Bay, it isnt as important to me that the whole area does well, i just want exciting original music i can smoke weed to and enjoy. The Bay had something different to offer thats why i started checkin for it, so im goin out of my way to search for this shit, this isnt easy to find out here, and when i finally find it, he's doin what everybody else is doin?

str8 up those beats on the new Quinn that have that Roc-a-Fella sound is lame, i sit there and think why?

I hope he does blow up, sure he deserves it, but he blows up with this sound and next year its whatevers popular then and so on and so on

I know im in a minority on this but whatevers, i just had to post this thread cos reading all these recommendations on here i was expecting sum next level shit.
Just curious as to what peoples were sayin about these beats

its horses for courses, im feelin the new Doomsday much more than this Quinn, the beats on that shit are fierce.

You just lost ALL credibility with that z-ro comment...its a cool cd, but NOT EVEN CLOSE to being cd of the year.

I'm a big z-ro fan as well as quinn and to me the quinn album (chipmunk beats and all) is a much better album and YES a contender for album of the year.
