On paper, Lakers have the obvious advantage. Im not gonna fool myself into thinking otherwise. But if Lopez makes his return and Phoenix keeps playing at the level they been playing at, I think their hunger might trump LA's skill and size.

Lakers advantages:
1. defense. not really much to say about this. they are great at defending the paint as well as the perimeter. suns defense is definitely improved from dantoni's era, but it would be silly to think its on the same level as the lakers.

2. size. pretty easy to rebound and block shots when you got 3 jolly green giant muthafuckas camping out in the paint all game. like I said, if Lopez is back, suns will get some size back there, but still not enough.

3. officiating. even tim donahue said in his book that the refs are encouraged to favor teams like the lakers. its real easy for kobe to get points when you cant play any d on him without getting a foul called. I guarentee if he played in jordan's time, he wouldnt get near as many ppg cuz he wouldnt be going to the line ten times a game.

Suns advantages
1. shooting. Suns are statistically the best 3-point shooting team in nba history. not much more to say about that.

2. bench. If you been watching the suns in the playoffs, you'd know you aint fuckin with the Suns bench. Goran Dragic, Leandro Barbosa, Louis Amundson, Jared Dudley, and Channing Frye. who the lakers got? farmar? lol

3. hunger/desperation. this is pretty much the Suns last shot at a chip. Nash is getting old, Amare might sign with another team, Grant Hill is ancient. its now or never for the suns and the lakers dont really seem to play with that sense of urgency.

Suns take it in game 6. I wanna see J-Rich in the Finals going up against Pietrus, Barnes and the rest of the Magic so I can feel like im watching the Warriors (my team) in the finals. Hopefully the Magic can just pull a Rudy and throw in Adonal Foyle for garbage time to top it off. That would be hilarious!

If any of you actually believed the refs were going to help the Lakers win, you wouldnt be watching the series. The truth is, many of you use it as a copout, a way of justifying in your own mind why either the team you like/favor got beat, or the team you hate came out on top. I will give you this though, Kobe does get some star treatment (not as much as he used to). Your only valid arguement would be that the refs, to some degree, help Kobe as an individual player (by giving him the benefit of the doubt more often); not that they are helping the entire team advance to the next round or win a championship.

I guess you haven't seen the Lakers get numerous calls go their way. Kings/Lakers playoffs, Warriors/Lakers games come to mind from what I've seen.

Bottom line is, no one gives a fuck what a ref who was indicted by the feds said happened 8 years ago. The present is what matters, and if you've truly been watching the playoffs this year, and watching the Lakers games, you'd know the Lakers don't get those calls. They're not strolling to the paint every 20 seconds like some people make it out. IMO, Kobe hasn't gotten the calls this postseason; he seems to get smacked around inside without getting the benefit of a favorable call. I've been watching all of the playoff games, and if some of you would put aside your obvious bias and watch the fucking games instead of crying about what happened in a series when Vlade Divac and Glen Rice were still relevant, you'd know what you're talking about.

I'm a neutral fan in these playoffs, since my team is out, and I just watch the games for the fuck of it, because I enjoy it.

Just like I've said, the Lakers = the Yankees, Duke basketball, and Cowboys football.

You either love them, or you're obsessed with hating them, so much so that you're not able to function unless they lose, and when they lose, it's better than you're team winning. 1/2 of the people on here have an orgasm when the Lakers lose, and then Caff and Iron Lungs orgasm together when they win.

Carry on, bitches.

This isn't the 2002 playoffs. And IMO the Lakers are not suspected of getting help from the REFs. Some people are just stuck with that mindset.

Ok....

Derrek Fisher needs to play Defense, but he can't Therefore Steve Nash will blow by this dude all Series and make it very close.

LA Big Men are obviously the XFactor...

Fisher, Shannon Brown, Farmar = Will have NO impact

PHX bench is playing great!!

LA just might lose this Series, i will NOT be shocked

^^^^^^

LOL they aint facing the old beat up spurs anymore. theyre going up against the defending champs who are showing no sign of slowing down. and lol @ automatically assuming fisher and brown wont be factors. Also how is our bench going to get outplayed? all those chumps you just mentioned dont compare to Lamar Odom. We alsd happen to have home court advantage and the best player and coach in the game. So anybody that picks the suns to win needs to be shot asap!
