I don't believe Mobb Music is a thing of the past. The proof would be to take an old ass sequencer file from the late 80's or the 90's and change up the instruments to some of todays instruments and you would see that Mobb Music still slaps and sounds as modern as anything else you hear today. Mobb Music is not something that necessarily has a shelf life. It can evolve just like any other music as long as the foundation of the style and the original intent is respected. Case in point is the bassline. What the fuck happened to basslines in Bay Music? Whether it's a synth bass or a electric bass, to me there is no such thing as Mobb Music without a bassline. Kick drum "bass" is simply not enough.

What I do agree with you on is that cats need to do themselves and stop all the biting. Whether you're attempting to add to mobb music or create something completely different we should all strive to be innovators.
Thats the main difference between when the Bay was hot and now, the innovation and originality...

keep in mind that to play basslines and chords you gotta know a little about music , if its a tempo below 80 bpm you better know something

Mobb Music aint dead, it just isnt as heavly supported by todays kids. C-Dubb has that mobb sound and also dont forget that Jay Tee aka Jamie Trago Cd were both Mobb Shit. But ya as a whole I think its overpowered by the shitty ass no talented radio shit you hear today. Sad how you can be someone like E-40 who had to work hard as hell to go platinum but then take a new kid who aint even 30 yet with no fuckin talent who most likely had a ghost writer and just raps, "Watch Me Crank It

I think because of this, mob shitt will not return cause it will not make money and if it dont make money it dont make sense. Gotta feed the family! Dont get me wrong I would love some new shit to tickle my subs! Sounds like X-Raided is getting ready to give us 3 or 4 new Unforgiven albums so that should tie us over for awhile but in the long hall who knows whats going to happen.
