I posted this in the video Game Forum, but figured Id do it here as more people would see it.

So there hasnt been a game to movie done GREAT yet, although I would say Silent Hill is THE best so far...but which ones do YOU think would make good "attempts" at movies?

So far, Onimusha and Castlevania are slated to come out, and God Of War has its script done and are looking to cast very soon. Devil May Cry is also in the works and is looking at a 2010 release. Also, Zelda seems to be making its way to the big screen in 2008 as well.

What else would you like to see?

Ona side note, Clash Of The Titans is being remade (FINALLY) and is looking at a release in 2009.

Appearntly, they want Djimon Hounsou to play Kratos, which makes ZERO sense. Kratos' voice is played by a black actor, but hs is a SPARTAN, and last i checked, Spartans are not African American.

"A film adaptation was announced in 2005. [2] Nearly one week prior to the release of God of War II in the U.S., creator David Jaffe confirmed that a completed script had been penned by David Self and would be sending it out to an unspecified "huge-name director." Jaffe also expressed interest in seeing actor Djimon Hounsou in the role of the protagonist, Kratos. "You'd have to get past the fact that Djimon is African American and Kratos is Greek, but in terms of the way he looks and his acting ability and his physique — I can't think of a better choice." [3]

Furthermore, on Comic-con 2007 Game head's Geoff Keighley introduced creator of God of War, David Jaffe to infamous film-director, Uwe Boll. David was asked by Geoff "Would you really let him direct God of War?", David answers "If it was my call you ask me? Truthfully? No, I would not." Uwe replied "Wait until you see Postal, then you judge." David also confirmed that Universal Studios is behind the making of the God of War movie and that he has no idea "Where it's at".[4]"

Also, Metal gear Solid was SUPPOSED to be on its way:

"In May 2006, Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima announced that a film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid was in development. The film was purported to be in English, though a release date was not yet established.[8] Kojima also announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo later that month that he had negotiated a contract with a party in Hollywood to adapt the video game into a film.[9]. Kojima also considered Alaska as the site of the film production, due to the game's setting in the state.[10]

In February 2007, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that it was spearheading the film adaptation for Metal Gear Solid. The studio's vice chairman Yair Landau described the project: "It's a very cinematic game, it really lends itself to movie telling. But the question is, 'How do you translate Snake's experience into a full arc that conforms to what audiences expect on the large screen?'"[11] Screenwriter David Hayter, who has voiced the protagonist in the video games, pitched a script treatment to Konami, but executives passed on the script.[12]

Some fan fictionalized movie trailers that have been broadcasted on youtube include a plot for the formation of Philanthropy, one of Snake's missions in Philanthropy while working with two other Mercenaries, and having a cinematic reanactment of Metal Gear or Metal Gear Solid."

LOL @ Uwe getting clowned for even thinking he has a shot at making that movie:

"When rumors surfaced that Boll had expressed interest in a Metal Gear Solid movie, and claimed to have been given a script to read, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima responded in his audioblog HIDECHAN, "Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him."[10]"

I sure hope they dont try and get Uwe for God Of War...he will ruin it.

I think The Legend of Zelda would be GREAT. I mean just look how good lord of the rings looked....

Plus the Legend of Zelda's story is so long.. it could be a trilogy...

Link and Gannon would be sick in that movie... but I think the movie should be dark.... once it get developed.... And it should use the old school theme song...

They made a cartoon of Zelda.. i wanna see a movie

video game to movie translations suck dick

none, whatsoever

except maybe night trap

which was a movie anyway
Resident Evil hasnt been bad and Silent Hill was sick.

The two Final Fantasy movies have been dope too.

There is a good chance with these upcomiong releases to redeem themselves of BAD translations...and I think Onimusha, Castelvania and God Of War have the best chances to do so.
