I just found out that Halo is coming to the big screen...Ex. Prod. is Peter Jackson:

"On February 3, 2005, Creative Artists Agency confirmed that Microsoft had completed a million-dollar deal with Alex Garland to write a screenplay based on the video game series Halo, which would then be offered to studios.[3] Microsoft released Garland's completed screenplay to various Hollywood studios on June 7, 2005, looking to be paid a $10 million fee as well as the studio's agreement to adhere to guidelines set by the game's developers.[4] Microsoft also wanted the studio to seek approval over director and cast. In addition, Microsoft sought full merchandising rights for itself, a minimum $75 million budget, and company representatives' full access to the film's rough cuts in Los Angeles. Studios like Paramount, DreamWorks, Sony, and Warner Bros. did not want to surrender creative rights to the film and passed over the project.[5] A few days later, 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios entered negotiations with Microsoft to divide Halo's distribution rights. The original $10 million deal was reduced based on the studios' negative response to the exorbitant price tag. In the negotiations, Universal gained rights to release the film in North America, where Fox would distribute the film overseas. On August 22, 2005, Microsoft's deal with the studios was announced to be finalized, with summer 2010 as the target release date.[6]"

"On July 10, 2007, Microsoft released a short film, simultaneously acting as a teaser for both Halo 3 and the film, of the name Arms Race, showing various special effects and vehicles and other elements of the Halo Universe near the end of the E3 Media and Business Summit.

In mid July bungie.net said that viewers could look forward to more shorts from director Blomkamp in the coming months.[citation needed]

On August 27, 2007, another short film was released on 1up.com, called Combat. This video depicted the Brutes fighting against the UNSC."

lol, shit would be funny as fuck.

Also Red Faction has a dope ass story about a Workers Revolution on Mars:

The game takes place on Mars about 100 years in the future. Ultor Corporation runs a massive mining complex on the planet, which is where the game takes place. The player takes on the role of Parker, a miner toiling deep beneath the surface. The working and living conditions for the miners are horrible, and miners are dying from a mysterious disease known as The Plague (which only seems to affect miners, by the way). The game begins with a miner uprising sparked by Parker, which turns into a full-fledged revolt. The player takes up arms against the Ultor security forces and joins the rebellion to uncover the origins of The Plague and bring Ultor to justice.

I posted this in the video Game Forum, but figured Id do it here as more people would see it.

So there hasnt been a game to movie done GREAT yet, although I would say Silent Hill is THE best so far...but which ones do YOU think would make good "attempts" at movies?

So far, Onimusha and Castlevania are slated to come out, and God Of War has its script done and are looking to cast very soon. Devil May Cry is also in the works and is looking at a 2010 release. Also, Zelda seems to be making its way to the big screen in 2008 as well.

What else would you like to see?

Ona side note, Clash Of The Titans is being remade (FINALLY) and is looking at a release in 2009

From what i understand, the writers for the screenplay of GOW were some of the ones that acually worked on the game...
