@ VENOM is there any way macc could put up the album for download on itunes or something while the actual pressing is delayed? like pay for mp3?
I have talked to him about doing this very thing. But I think that he is holding out for the pressed up version cause Madesicc is still signed to Select O Hits. I didn't even know this till a couple of days ago. (Note this only means that Madesicc Muzicc is signed to them not Lynch.)

Lynch is solely Strange/Universal now.

Wow...I know I dont know the in & outs of their contracts, but from what you stated it looks like Lynch jumped ship and left his homies/artists on stuck..

I give you guys all that I know personally. I am just as disgusted as you guys are. The Underground Music game is more fucked up than the mainstream game.

Why do people even sign with labels nowadays (mainstream or indie)? It's pathetic--hip hop is killing itself slowly and blaming an outdated music industry for its untimely demise.

Seriously--just self release the record...a lot of New York cats like Killah Priest or AZ have managed to put out an incredible amount of quality music through their own DIY labels/imprints and a decent distribution arrangement over the past few years (you can get self-released Killah Priest records, AZ records at Best Buy for god's sake)...why bother with label politics in 2010 when every label--big or small-- is coming apart at the seams anyway?

Look at how Raided is doing it...and he's in prison! That guy is amazing. I was able to get his past three records at J & R Music in New York City, no problem.

What is the excuse that these Sac artists out in the free world have for these constant delays? Some seriously talented cats (Sav Sicc, Bleezo, G-Macc, the entire C-Way Roster) are clearly missing their moment to shine, and it's going to be their own fault...just like that cat Papoose from New York.

The music industry is bad enough as it is, and these dudes are still not getting their music out there...

...and as far as distribution goes, look at these Texas cats (G-Maab, Trae, whomever) who manage to get their independently released albums(non-Rap-A Lot projects) to Best Buy through that
Your Music Everywhere distro...

The record-buying public, more cautious than ever, is not going to wait on these Sacramento cats...

It's 2010...DIY

^yeah I second that!

I really haven't giving up hope (at least we finally got a Sav Sicc release date now), but damn, it's been 5 years waiting for the No Love albums, Sav Sicc's album, Bleezo, Trauma Unit, Key Loc, Pain. Im not complaining, Im happy with all the quality music they gave us in the last years. It just seems yall might miss your big chance to shine and make some money.

And by the way, everyone who cries about Lynch's DAAM taking so long should get some perspective and realize he's not the only one messing shit like this up. There are some exceptions like Raided and BSE nowadays who only give release dates when they sure, but they're just that - exceptions.

Making your release date is king in this music industry. But everything is not always as it seems. A lot of the times it has nothing to do with the artist itself it has to do with the record label or who presses up your albums.

Sac has all of this talent but just like in Ohio not a lot of people handle their business correctly which leads to broken release dates and everything.

It is up to the artist and it is the artist's responsibility however to give the fans a heads up when things are not dropping. As a promoter I go that extra step to do this for the artist I represent.
