Why would you want Hatton to be the champ?
The guy wont leave his backyard to take a belt, what makes you think he would leave to defend it? Some champ...

I hope Tszyu KO's him within 5.

Ricky Hatton's spent his whole career in cotton wool because of his promoter, Frank Warren. Most people would acknowledge that. Warren is the real reason Hatton hasn't fought much outside of Manchester. I don't think Ricky would have a problem leaving his backyard, but it's Warren who calls the shots. I give Hatton a lot of credit for stepping it up now by forcing Warren's hand, which is what he had to do in the end because Warren just wasn't getting the big fights for him.

HATTON WHOOPED TSZYU'S ASS, I CANT BELIEVE IT, IT DIDNT SEEM LIKE TSZYU WAS AT HIS BEST THOUGH, IT SEEMED LIKE HATTON WAS JUST WAY TO QUICK FOR TSZYU. TSZYU SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST LET IT GO TO THE JUDGES AND NOT GIVE UP RIGHT BEFORE THE LAST ROUND.

Hatton has officially arrived. I was tired of waiting for him to finally step up and face a top-notch fighter, but Ricky showed his pedigree last night. He now has the status of 'legitimate' World Champion and he has proven without a doubt that he is now the man to beat at 140-pounds. Congratulations Ricky Hatton!!!!!

Yes, the referee was biased as hell for Hatton. What did you expect, the dude to dock Hatton points for forearms, rabbit punches and low blows? If the crowd didn't lynch his ass after the fight, he would never work another fight in the UK again. I agree that Hatton's low blow was intentional (not to mention vicious), I also think Tszyu should have been credited for a knockdown (I thought his shot was on the beltline). But I expected this kind of stuff in Manchester and I'm sure Tszyu did.
Tszyu knew he was walking into the Lion's Den when he signed the contract and accepted that $5 million for this fight. And Tszyu, who is notorious for rough-house tactics, was just as guilty for the holding and grappling on the inside as Hatton was. It was a rough, rugged, hardcore dog fight, the kind of scrap that a 35-year-old fighter does not weather very well after eight or nine rounds. Who knows why Tszyu quit? Maybe his jaw was badly fractured, but he didn't want to use that as an excuse. Maybe he reinjured one of his shoulders? Or maybe, just maybe, he felt that Hatton was going to knock his ass out in the final round and he pulled 'a Sonny Liston' to avoid that "indignity".so whos next !!I didn't count Hatton out and I wouldn't count him out in fights vs. Cotto, Mayweather or Harris.
