how about... FILIPINOS USE TO BE ASIAN UNTIL THE SPANISH RULING? THAT MAKES SENSE. MIGHT I ADD, THE FILIPINOS I KNOW STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PHILLIPINES THINK FILIPINOS THAT CLAIM PACIFIC ISLANDER ARE PLAIN RETARDED AND HAVE NO CLUE OF THEIR HISTORY OR WHATSOEVER.
all the asian rappers i could name of is Tighteyez (fresno), and Thai (portland, but originally from San Jo), AM Kidd, INSANE1, Nump, ELEMNOP(if filipinos included), and Big Rich and Equipto (if half asians included).

That's true.. Filipinos in the PI probably never even heard the term Pacific Islander..
Even Filipinos that are from actual pacific islands like Guam or Saipan which almost epitomize PACIFIC ISLANDs don't consider themselves Pacific Islanders even though they were born there. They consider themselves as Filipinos not asians or pacific islanders.
Come to think of it this whole generalization of peoples are coined by Americans to sum up a whole bunch of people in a category...
