Pilipinos are not Pacific Islanders, we are Asian. The PHilippine archipelago is located in south east asia. We are of Malay stock just as Indonesians, Cambodians, Thais (brown skin asians).. Pacific Islanders are descendants of south east asians (malays)..

They say that they are not asian because when you think of "Asian" you would usually picture chinese, japanese and korean type of asians, and i guess for that part, the pin@ys would like to consider themselves as being more exotic like a "Pacific Islander"
