Getting shot don't mean shit homie. I seen some old footage of Pac & he said "got shot 5 times, got out & sold 5 million". Soundz like he bragging 2 me. I've yet 2 see or hear a bout a war veteren bragging about taking some shotz while over seas. Az far az being real IMO being real= just being yourself. To me he waz a bandwagon rider. He came from the east coast, jumped on the Bay area then switched 2 L.A. when he got released from prison. Tell me something. Niggaz from the Bay alwayz claiming that Pac iz from the Bay, then tell me what hood did he grow up in(that does not mean just lived in 4 a couple of yearz). I moved 2 L.A. when I waz 17 yearz old but alwayz claimed Northern Cali while I lived down there cuz thatz where I waz raized & thatz where my background checkz from.
You had to have heard 'it's not where you're from, it's where you're at...', right?

Also, if you are so quick to judge Pac's 'Bay claim' status, why don't you ask the OGs like Richie Rich or Hammer or any of the other cats who rep for him. I don't see why its such huge deal, i mean, what, are folks MAD that he gave love to the Bay where ever he went? He repped California mayn, every ghetto USA, and are those fans in South Africa wrong for sayin he repped for them?

I know you sayin the actual place where he 'claimed', but get off the thug mode and think about real shit, like the truth Mac Mall. Why don't you tell or ask Mall why Pac is repped in the Bay? Or ask Digital Underground's fuckin entire staff. They were all in West Oakland and the East... do you need a fuckin block or something where he claimed? Ask any of those OGs, get an answer and post your results for the slightest credibility cuzzo. I mean what's next, fuckin Toni Tony Tone, Santana, Sheela E., and Green Day need to throw up a block to represent they started or originated in the Bay Area? ...I'm calm nigga, dont trip hahahaha

Yeah in that Have Gun Will Travel Book (I think thats what it was called, had that shit like almost 10 yrs ago I can tremember.) Syke said that was his homie and that Pac was not a "gangster" but got a thrill out of bein around the shit and it helped him portray that lifestyle to the public. As far as the actual artists gettin punked to change their lyrics Suge did that a few times from what I remember. Warren Gs verse on Snoops album "6-4 red to be exact" originally was 6-4 "blue" I never heard that to live and die in the bay rumor before though.

I thought that Warren G said "6-4 Rag to be exact". Rag like rag top.

Yeah I heard that Pac used to work at Walmart too... that's just as far fetched as this. If it were to be To Live and Die in the Bay... that means he re-wrote the whole song in order to cater to the name. Who's to say that Pac portrayed something that is nothing but an act????? He lived everything he spoke about in his lyrics.. from being beat by cops to being a millionaire. He kicked it with real street niggaz, if it were an act he wouldn't be kickin it like that. He also spoke about Kato long before Death Row...
