There are a million lies & facts about Pac that go unanswered. To actually call someone a bandwagon rider with what you see only on the television or hear on the internet is bullshit. Maybe your definition of a thug is different from Tupac's. Either way, homie got shot 5 times and 4 more in Vegas. Listen to against all odds, that song is straight thug, gangster, whatever you want to call it. Don't get it twisted in a lock, 2Pac was the realest. Dude was good on politics too.
Getting shot don't mean shit homie. I seen some old footage of Pac & he said "got shot 5 times, got out & sold 5 million". Soundz like he bragging 2 me. I've yet 2 see or hear a bout a war veteren bragging about taking some shotz while over seas. Az far az being real IMO being real= just being yourself. To me he waz a bandwagon rider. He came from the east coast, jumped on the Bay area then switched 2 L.A. when he got released from prison. Tell me something. Niggaz from the Bay alwayz claiming that Pac iz from the Bay, then tell me what hood did he grow up in(that does not mean just lived in 4 a couple of yearz). I moved 2 L.A. when I waz 17 yearz old but alwayz claimed Northern Cali while I lived down there cuz thatz where I waz raized & thatz where my background checkz from.

he gives a shot out to 106 kmel on that one
No, he is giving a shout out to Power 106 in LA. And no, it wasn't meant to be called to Live and Die in the Bay. Nobody involved in that song has ever said anything of the sort that I'm aware of.

he also talked about a mentor of his, Kato, which was actually someone he didn't even know, it was Suge's friend...and a lot of other things.
False, Kato funded an old group called Evil Mind that had Big Syke in it. This was just before Thug Life I believe. I'm pretty sure Pac met him and knew him if Syke did.

EDIT: Somebody already posted this, thanks.

leave the song the way it is,

to live and die in l.a make sense if he lives in l.a. at the time...

but that would of been tight for the bay,

but if it's true.... someone needs to get a edited version for the bay area

alot of the shit being debated in this thread is redundant... the facts are there, its all about people's perceptions. Personally, I liked the way it turned out, thats prolly my favorite song by Pac whenever I put it on it gives me images of that 90's LA hiphop mentality , but I definately would have liked for him to do a bay tribute as well.

And as far as Pac being a bandwagoner, I dont really see that. When he moved, it was because his family had no money or options, as a kid being tossed around like that and finally landing in the westcoast, where he got laced in the game, he fell in love with it; and showed that in his music.

Anyways, alot of this shit being duscussed on here was explained in the numerous interviews the man himself participated in, many of which can be seen in the movie Ressurection

it's possible that he put that on for the station, a lot of times artists hit up stations and add in little shout outs to the radio station either on their songs or on commercial intros
