I seen German shows in Chinese and Japanese...lol

At least the dubbing in Germany is as professional as it can get. When you compare it to other countries, even the US it is a lot better. How about Poland. I've seen shows in Poland and Turkey where you can hear the og, but you have one dude dubbing over it in polish/turkish. Everything. All parts. lol

Leave it to the Germans to be the best in everything they do! (except football of course!)

You're wife is Chinese, right? Let you drive her at all with you in the passengers seat?
I just came out of a car with a female Thai driver and I find the stereo type of female Asian drivers very true!
I can't remember being so scared for my life in a long long time!

whoa, whoa, whoa. i'll give you a pass, i guess. HAHA

Mike, is there any weird customs i need to be aware of. Unwritten rules, stuff that you dont do, that maybe I should know? My old man was telling me a story about many years ago when he lived there, he went into a bar wearing a striped shirt which resembled the uniform of a football team. Anyway, this bar he went into ended up being a rival bar of that particular football team. Suffice to say, most people in that bar gave him a hard time. That was a long time ago though.

Well, not really. Just don't wear the jersey of a Soccer Team. But it's not so bad. Normally if people see you are a foreigner they won't fuck with you...

Mike, I'm here and checked the city out yesterday. You were right man, most people are cold at first. There's a ton of beautiful women here. Is there any bars that spin hiphop music or is everything house? And are there any bigger places? Most I have seen (and keep in mind I was touring by day and most places were closed) have like 8 tables inside. haha, its pretty cool actually when you walk into a bar and its no bigger than my kitchen.

I also saw the church today but didnt go inside because there was tour buses out front.

If you can, maybe tell me briefly how to get to Schanzenviertal. Like maybe how to get there in relation to reeperbahn because I am staying quite close to there. They're setting some sort of EuroVision concert up in the middle of the street there for saturday night, its gonna be rockin. Cant wait to check that out

Beware! That Eurovision shit is pretty lame. The music sucks and most fans are gay lol.

Most clubs and bars in the city are small. There are some very big ones in the suburbs, but they usually suck.

I'll check with some friends where and when the hip hop parties are and post em up later...

Check this for directions: http://wikitravel.org/en/Hamburg or just google maps.

Schanzenviertel is where the Schanzenstrasse is. Also check out Marktstrasse. I used to live there. 5 - 10 Minute walking distance from the Reeperbahn.

Tomorrow evening is a good party. The Bench Hip Hop Jam. Schulterblatt 73 (Next to Schanzenstrasse). Starts around 9pm. They have open mic freestyle battles as well...

I know some of the guys that organize that.

yea the eurovision shit was lame but there was a boat load of pretty girls around watching. Let me say this, Hamburg is a fucking blast. The last few nights I have been partying well through the morning, 7am or so. the night life here is on some other shit.

I never got on in time to call your homie though, its alright. I think this week I may head over to the schanzenviertel and check it out. Is the Marktstrasse the Fischmarkt? That is a really cool little district right down by the waterfront. Really trendy by day, and last night there was some sort of party from 6am-9am in the warehouse there with live bands. Everywhere you go here, there seems to be something going on.

hey mike, is it possible for you to copy and paste the FC Sankt Pauli schedule for me? The website is in Deutsche and I can't read it. Also my internet service is extremely slow.

I would love to check out a game, but i think there was one just yesterday because there was a ton of hooligans in the street. I am here until the 21, and if they have one I will go.

The season is over, sorry breh. Shit ended this weekend and Pauli is going straight to the 2nd division. One more reason for me to visit my homie in Hamburg when Fortuna plays at Millerntor next season !

Glad you are enjoying yourself. Have you seen the big bunker close to the Reeperbahn. It's in the opposite direction then the Fischmarkt. That's were the Marktstrasse is. It's called the Karoviertel. Next to Schanzenviertel. Similar.

Reading your posts makes me miss my hometown...

Nice pics bro!

At the moment I'm back in Bangkok again, recovering from some crazy parties yesterday.
I just came back from two weeks chilling out on the island Koh Pha-ngan and did the full moon party there which I didn't enjoy because it was full of Jersey shore macho assholes. (the tv stereo types)

My visa expires on the 28th and I don't know where to go after. I want to go to Cambodia and Laos, but the monsoon is about to start so I might go later. And I don't really want to go to Laos because it's full of tourist who go there to party like Thailand and I'm sick of these people to be honoust.
I really would like to go to Pakistan and Afghanistan. I will see... I could go to hong kong and china as well or Australia.
If someone has suggestions I'm open for it. At the moment I don't know anymore, but I want to keep traveling for sure.

Well, I'm in Xiamen. One of the nicest cities in China. And I could show you the "real" China as well...let me know.
That would be cool to drink a beer or two with you, although I don't really want to be chased down the streets in the middle of the night by 40 Chinese taxi drivers though!

How much have you spent on your trip so far, in Euro dollars?

Mike, are you planning to go back to Hamburg anytime? I wouldn't mind checking out China either but its probably going to be a few months before I can go away again. My stories of Germany have my friend saving for a trip there, haha.

That must be near Sternschanze, the train station, right? I could bet money on it, that the door to the right is where my homie lives. Top floor.

honestly I couldn't tell you. I was just wandering through the city and saw a little park and went inside then I saw an alley and walked through there and saw a great opportunity for a picture. At the end of the alley there is the word "Dead" spray painted on the wall. I thought it was cool and snapped a pic. Man I walked miles and miles...from the opera house all the way to the Rathaus and around the Media Tower and past the Fischmarkt through a beautiful park, the Markstrasse....just going and going
