Sorry i know this isnt really related to strange, but I've been wantin to learn how to spin for a while and i think the shit would be a tight hobby. I know a lot of people in this forum spin or know about the equipment and stuff. So i was curious if anyone had suggestions as to what is the smartest stuff to buy to start out with, or what equipment is quality. Im just tryin to get opinions of some people who have experience with this stuff cuz i dont wanna buy some whack shit and be out a G.

I've heard about the new program where u hook up a lap top and can play MP3s and scratch and fuck with them just like a record. anybody have experience with tthis and what are ur opinions.

Also any websites that have info on shit like this would be appreciated too. Thanks

I use the Stanton Str8-150.

Built BETTER than the 1200's. Stronger motor than the 1200's. Reverse, start and stop adjustments, pitch lock, +/- up to 50%... and it gets NO feedback like other decks will.

The best all around cartridge is shure m447's...
If you can afford it, I'd go with a Rane t56i mixer... But a vestax is never a bad choice... I myself am getting a new mixer soon (pioneer djm707)

Now the question is... Do you want to SPIN or ...?

PS:

www.TurnTableLab.com
www.HipHopSite.com

and you can always find good shit on ebay... theres always some poor sap who spent well over 2k on some gear and found out he sucks so he has to sell it... and its usually dirt cheap compared to the 2k they got it for.

and I think you either mean Stanton's FINAL SCRATCH or SERATO LIVE (spelling)...

and yeah... I could bring my computer with me and be the best DJ in the universe toooooo. If you know what I'm saying. I hate these more than CDJs. I wouldnt drop the 5bills on it if i had 100mills in the bank.

mixer is top in scratching and chopping in my book plus the remover face plate is easy to take off so u can clean the mixer, for the price its a steal, and very strong and durable..i recommend it.
