5-11?! I don't know about all that. Their defense and rushing attack is enough to be a .500 team. I thought Norm Chow would turn that offense around, but unfortunately he was a weenie being too conversative esp. in the playoffs vs SD. Fuck running the clock out at the half to kick a FG. Take a shot at the damn end zone.

a slight uniform color change is a thread worthy topic?
you wouldn't be asking the same question if this was the Warriors, Giants, or Raiders.

but if a national sports team decides to change their uniforms, why not post it in a sports forum?

but in the end this ended up not being a thread worthy topic, because apparently it's just under review... not official.

well its treally official now...the tennesseean the newspaper works in strange ways....well atleast they got it right

The Titans have worn their light blue jerseys well over the years, and in 2008 they’ll wear them a lot more.

They have switched their primary home jersey to light blue after wearing navy blue since 1999. The organization recently notified the NFL of the decision.

The team plans to wear light blue for all of its home games except the preseason opener on Aug. 9 against the St. Louis Rams, and the Nov. 23 regular season game at LP Field against the Jets, when they’ll wear navy. The team’s primary road jersey will remain white.

The Titans had discussed making the change in recent years, but owner Bud Adams just recently decided to make the switch.

Pants can be light blue, navy blue or white.

They are 4-0 over the past two seasons and 7-3 overall since the light blue was first introduced as the “third jersey” in 2003.

The Titans are 43-28 in dark blue and 33-30 in the white jersey.

Looking good: With starting cornerback Cortland Finnegan held out of June practices because of a nagging hamstring injury, Eric King got a chance to work in his spot.

King, who played in 15 games last season before breaking his arm, was impressive. While he’s not expected to bump Finnegan or Nick Harper for a starting cornerback spot, he is expected to be on the field in situational packages this fall, and compete with Vincent Fuller for the nickel back job.

“I just want to pick up where I left off (last season),’’ King said. “I just want to keep working hard and try to impress the coaches.’’

Coach Jeff Fisher, for one, has been quick to praise King.

“He has recovered from the arm fracture and is doing fine,’’ Fisher said. “We’ll have no trouble at all putting him out there. ... He’s a solid player who can also help on special teams.’’

Tough luck: When the Titans signed undrafted free agent Rocky Schwartz in June, it looked like a perfect fit for both sides.

The Titans had wanted Schwartz, a safety from Houston, before he signed with the Saints after the draft. And Schwartz was looking for a fresh start after a quick release from New Orleans.

But Schwartz has been rehabbing a calf injury he suffered during his first practice.

“You just try and stay positive and try and make a positive out of the negative,’’ Schwartz said. “I need to use this time to learn the playbook.’’

Titan tickets: Single-game tickets for the Titans’ home game will go on sale Saturday, July 12 at 10 a.m.

Roughly 2,500 tickets will be made available for each game and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com, at the LP Field box office or by calling 615-255-9600.

Special event: Former Titans Eddie George, Frank Wycheck and Kevin Dyson are scheduled to attend the Legends of the Flame dinner on Thursday, Aug. 7 at The Factory in Franklin. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Each ticket includes a buffet meal, and the event will include dialogue from each player. A silent and live auction will also take place. Tickets are $150 each, and will benefit The Refuge Center for Counseling and the Domestic Violence Intervention Center.
