Dre's gotten caught, before for "Kill You", it's really not a big deal
Well it should be! These "producer geniouses" with money out the ass assraping these hardworking hand to mouth artists and have the nerve to take all the glory and dollars out it.. fuck..
And it's not all about the money and glory. For an example, the main reason why I don't sample other peoples shit in my songs is because I respect the music, its creators and the originality. I find it very dissapointing to first jam to some tight beat and think "He's got the shit right here.. Man he's good" and then 1year afterwards hear the same loop from a radio in some old song. I feel then cheated in someway..
I really can't anymore listen any of timbalands beats without thinkin where he stole that good melody or that bizardly cool sounding synth.. Hope he comes up with some explanation with this case though.

Grow up.

Anyone running around calling Tim a thief or a lowlife music stealer needs to be slapped. Even after all his success, he has one of the best & humble characters you're going to find. He doesn't plot & scheme and he doesn't set out to rip anyone off. Tim's solid and if you ever get the chance to be in the studio with him and watch him work, you'll see he creates his stuff completely from the ground up.

This situation is similar to that Dr. Dre situation with the Truth Hurts song "Addicted". Dre didn't have anything to do with sampling and creating that beat. DJ Quik sampled it off the television and put the beat together, then brought it to Dre. They couldn't find out who the original artist was so they put it out anyway. The original artist found out, filed a $500 million lawsuit and in the end all that happened was the album cover got reprinted with the appropriate credits listed and a small sum of licensing money was paid.

Now back to Timbaland... I guess there's no stopping the internet idiots from talking whatever shit and making up whatever false claims they want but I'll say this... When the truth comes out, you're going to feel real stupid.

If you (or some of your co-producers) take other peoples music and put it out saying you produced(,composed, programmed, whatever) it... well.. I say it's faulty. If they didn't know who wrote the original piece, why to put it out and take the risk of being called a thief and loose credibility? If this was the case, THEY NEED A GOOD SLAP!

What comes to sayings and bs of "these internet idiots" I don't know was that targeted at me or what but I still stated that I wanted to know timberlands story too and I don't see in my post the childness in which you're referring. Posts saying "it was a piece of crap anyway" like above are true BS and missing the point roughly.

Well, from reading the link that was posted:

This is all done for fun and all productions are released for everyone to enjoy, first on BBS's and now on This is all done for fun and all productions are released for everyone to enjoy, first on BBS's and now on the internet.

To my understanding, these songs are released for free, and placed on the internet made available to anyone and everyone for people to pretty much do as they please with.

Also, does anyone have the Nelly Furtado album, and has anyone even looked in the liner notes...? Seems like everyone is quick to call Timbo a their, or a biter, when in reality if that was the case, 95% of Hip Hop music ever made could be considered stolen, or bitten.

My "internet idiots" comment wasn't directed at any one person. I was referring to all the people I've seen on the net running wild with the dumb shit. People are going way too far trying to bash Timbaland's character over the little rumors and gossip they're reading off the internet. It's ridiculous to hear all these dudes say how Tim's credibility is shot when he's one of the most credible producers in the game!

Morebass, even if you release your music free-of-charge, it doesn't mean anyone can do what they want with it. You still need the proper licensing if you want to use, reproduce, etc. the piece unless the owner specifically states otherwise.

Timbaland answers to the public:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATkHbfbQAc4&eurl=

"It makes me laugh," he said. "The part I don't understand, the dude is trying to act like I went to his house and took it from his computer. I don't know him from a can of paint. I'm 15 years deep. That's how you attack a king? You attack moi? Come on, man. You got to come correct. You the laughing stock. People are like, 'You can't be serious"

What a moron he is.. A king?? Hahahahohoho!! Give me a break!

I speak from first-hand experience so what you think or 'doubt' doesn't matter since you obviously don't know Tim. If you did, you wouldn't make such a dumbass comment.
Hear me now; he spoke up and came off as a total fool. Nothing but a pile of arrogant booboo came out of his mouth.. Calling people who he stole from (yes STOLE) names and acting as a king that can do whatever he wants doesn't make him look too humble person, does it?

It's also funny how he's trying to sell a story where he's claiming that it's only stealin if you take ones hardware and play the beat out of it as your own. Not to mention that whenever he had a change he remarked how good and great he is in his business.. (I'm not saying he's untalented)

If you really know him in person, I'd suggest you to be a friend to him and tell him to wake up and stop dreaming..

edit: word "now" supposed to be "not"

You know why he's talking shit? Because he's responding to a bullshit claim being brought against him. Like I said, Tim is one of the most humble cats in the business and what you think will never change that fact. He's a good dude, deal with it.

its hard to tell if the original composer hadn't sampled from a video game since almost every game back then used the same synths and sounds, but if it is true that Timbaland stole it, then he fucked up since both tracks sounds similar. There were rumors that it was taken from the Street Fighter 2 Turbo select screen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNNU887A-8g) when you select a character, but I dont know the validity of that. This piece shows a blatant copy though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2JjPFd7Jr8
That second YouTube video shows Timbo to be a liar if its true. Itsa direct copy of the song. Wow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2JjPFd7Jr8

"Better comparison of the original Acidjazzed Evening by Tempest (2000), GRG's C-64 version (2002), Timbaland's ringtone (2005) & Nelly Furtado's song "Do It" (2006).

When Glenn arranged the song to the three SID voices, he included triangle waveform blips at random places, to add variety to the sound. All these blips are heard at the exactly same places in Timbaland's tracks.

It's great that Timbaland has discovered the SID sound, but the 'freaking jerk' Janne and the 'can of paint' Glenn, should receive some compensation from this unauthorized use of their song."

Dude cant fuck with Timbo on his worse day
That's not the debate though...

A cat on another board did some research on this and this is what he came up with...

Part of the track is clearly stolen from a c64 conversion of an Amiga mod made by the Finnish demoscener Janne "Tempest/Damage" Suni

The track was entered into a music-competition at Assembly 2000, a multimedia-party held in Helsinki, Finland in the year 2000. His entry "Acid Jazzed Evening" , a 4 channel Amiga .MOD won the competition. Still according to the info Janne Suni has never given up the copyright for his original track, and he never heard from neither Timbaland or any of the other producers, or Geffen.

It is very popular among 8-bit musicians to use C64 sounds to create songs. Just because it sounds like a video game doesn't mean that it is a video game sound clip. So the comment "It's a video game, idiot!" makes timbo look like the idiot. This song was actually copyrighted and entered into various competitions.
