btw just ran into a guy i graduated high school with and used to be pretty cool with, and hes a full fledged cop now. he used to be a nice kid too. i guess he's still kind of nice but hes got that full on robotic talk and movement thing going on.

he had the nerve to tell me he doesnt like giving tickets, and he only gives out like 4 a month, but he likes taking people to jail. who the fuck enjoys putting people in jail?!? and he openly admitted that he profiles people all day and if they look a certain way he'll stop them hoping he can arrest them for something...what the fuck is that?!?!

i didnt want to say anything mean, so i just nodded my head a lot and kept saying "dang thats crazy"

oakland police just shot a deer for the fuck of it

Oakland Police Apologize For Shooting Deer

OAKLAND, Calif. -- In the wake of a firestorm of controversy ignited by the weekend shooting of a deer that wandered into an East Oakland neighborhood by officers, Oakland Police Tuesday night apologized to the public for the incident.

The department said it would rethink the way officers handle wild animals that stray onto city streets.

On Monday when KTVU first reported the shooting of the deer that was captured by an area resident in a shocking home video, Oakland police defended the killing of the deer.

Since that report aired Monday night, police said they have been swamped by irate calls from the public.

“We just want to express our sympathy to the public,” said Oakland Police Department spokesman Jeff Thomason. “When I saw the video, I was outraged and I was upset by what happened. We have to put procedures in place so this never happens again.”

"I understand the importance of life and I'm working towards implementing strategies that will result in humane outcomes in our future contacts with wildlife," Police Chief Anthony Batts said in the prepared statement.

Amateur videographer Anthony Weems captured on tape an Oakland police officer shooting and killing a small male deer Saturday morning in a backyard on 90th Avenue.

The last of the shots was fired a full minute and 15 seconds after the first one.

“You can see where his [the deer’s] leg almost broke,” said Weems, describing the clip as it played on his camera. “It's almost off.”

Lila Travis, who runs a private wildlife rescue organization in Oakland, brought a less than week old baby deer to animal control Tuesday. At first she thought the deer that was shot might be the baby deer’s mother. As KTVU reported, the shot deer was a male.

Travis said she got a call from animal control and fish and game Saturday to rescue the deer before police shot it.

“We were in process of rallying resources to anaesthetize the deer and relocate it,” said Travis. Despite Fish and Game personnel being only 30 minutes away -- according to Warden Roxanne Bowers -- the officers decided against waiting.

“Then we got the word deer had already been shot,” said Travis. “Of course my gut reaction was it was horrible.”

The Fish and Game Warden said in addition to tranquilizers, they carry capture nets and hobbles to tie a deer's legs, so they can transfer it to a less urban area.

On Tuesday, veterinarian and Director of the Oakland Zoo Joel Parrott also offered the zoo's expertise in tranquilizing animals.

“We will help out OPD any time they need our help,” said Parrott.

The next time such a situation comes up, Oakland Police will have plenty of options other than killing an uninjured deer.

Video of SWAT Raid on Missouri Family

Radley Balko | May 5, 2010

In February, I wrote the following about a drug raid in Missouri:

SWAT team breaks into home, fires seven rounds at family's pit bull and corgi (?!) as a seven-year-old looks on.

They found a "small amount" of marijuana, enough for a misdemeanor charge. The parents were then charged with child endangerment.

So smoking pot = "child endangerment." Storming a home with guns, then firing bullets into the family pets as a child looks on = necessary police procedures to ensure everyone's safety.

Just so we're clear.

Now there's video, which you can watch below. It's horrifying, but I'd urge you to watch it, and to send it to the drug warriors in your life. This is the blunt-end result of all the war imagery and militaristic rhetoric politicians have been spewing for the last 30 years—cops dressed like soldiers, barreling through the front door middle of the night, slaughtering the family pets, filling the house with bullets in the presence of children, then having the audacity to charge the parents with endangering their own kid. There are 100-150 of these raids every day in America, the vast, vast majority like this one, to serve a warrant for a consensual crime.

But they did prevent Jonathan Whitworth from smoking the pot they found in his possession. So I guess this mission was a success.

I've exchanged emails with the mother of the family, who was in the home at the time of the raid. I'm waiting on her permission to publish her account of what happened.

Damn, I felt hella bad hearing that dog crying from the first shot. For a dog to cry like that you know he was in excruciating pain. I swear if that same situation happened to me it would be different. Just hearing my dog screaming in pain would put me into attack mode. If I had a gun near me I would empty it into dude not even thinking about the consequences. IMO when I'm in my home I don't give a fuck who u are, if you hurt my loved ones you're getting fucked up. Cop or not, no one has the right to enter another mans home and start blasting off for no reason.

First, take this shit to the sports forum. Second, the SHITBIRDS shot themselves in the foot over and over in Super Bowl XL and can't handle pressure. Don't blame the officials, but blame that poor clock management, mistakes and unsound decisions made by HasselPECK and HOMOgren! Rigged?! LMFAO, GBR!!! That's what a loser ass player or fan always says. FUCK THE SEACHICKENS AND THEIR BITCH MADE WHINY FANS!!!
