Machete Cast!

According to Variety, Robert Rodriguez has announced much of the cast for Machete, and it is one hell of a cast. Joining Danny Trejo will be Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jessica Alba. Also, Cheech Marin and Jeff Fahey, who were in the Grindhouse trailer will be back for the big screen version. Rumors of Lindsay Lohan joining the cat are also true. Finally, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal have been confirmed for the project. There was no confirmation on Jonah Hill, who had recently been offered a part.

I'm looking forward to this!

For the full-length movie, Rodriguez has assembled one of the most eclectic casts ever: Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Don Johnson and Lindsay Lohan. They will join the stars of the original trailer: Danny Trejo, Jeff Fahey and Cheech Marin.
In the movie, Machete (Trejo), a former Mexican Federales, is hired to assassinate a corrupt senator (De Niro). But then he is double-crossed and pursued by a government agent (Alba). Lohan plays a gun-wielding socialite who comes to Machete's aid, and Seagal plays a drug lord from his past. Filming has already begun in Austin, TX, and it will most likely hit theaters next year.

Fox's 'Machete' gets release date

Rodriquez-helmed film set to bow September 3

By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK

Twentieth Century Fox and Robert Rodriquez will wield their machetes over Labor Day weekend.

Studio has set Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis' "Machete" for release in theaters on Sept. 3. Pic is based on Rodriguez's fake trailer for "Grindhouse."

Rodriguez and Maniquis co-directed the film from Rodriquez's script.

"Machete" stars Danny Trejo as a blade-wielding Mexican ex-Federale who is double-crossed by a crooked politician. Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriquez and Lindsay Lohan also star.

Producers are Rodriquez, Rick Schwartz, Aaron Kaufman, Iliana Nikolic and Elizabeth Avellan. The "Machete" trailer generated big interest when airing on YouTube. The feature-length version was financed by Overnight Prods., who sold off international rights to Sony and several territory distributors. That provided the bulk of the money needed to shoot the film, which Rodriguez lensed last fall in Austin, Texas.

Labor Day weekend is a popular frame for genre films. Also opening that weekend is Sony's comedy "Born to Be a Star." Two days earlier, Focus Features' opens George Clooney pic "The American."

"Machete" reunites Fox and Rodriguez, who worked on the "Predators" franchise together.

In January, Fox won a bidding war to distribute the film domestically, beating out Paramount and Lionsgate.

This movie is so 80's

This will be a good one. I was dying at "He was given an offer he couldn't refuse"
Then the famous "he knows the score, he gets the women and he kills the bad guys"

A couple of fine looking women and then you see Steven Seagal, this has to be a really bad / good movie.
Then we see Robert DeNiro .. what is he doing here? haha

"They soon realize, they fucked with the wrong Mexican" had me dying again.
He jumps with his motor from an explosion while firring a chaingun mounted to his bike.

I think guaranteed for a good 2 hours of 80's fun.
