All kinds of people feel me & share my views but some of them don't agree with how I express things. I'm west coast raised & still live here so of course I want us to win & be back on top. Not to mention that it would be good for everyones pockets. That's simple common sense.
What I'm against is all this cry baby shit cats are on. Mutha fuckas want to sit around whinin' & blame everything under the sun but themselves for their failures. You yourself said that cats are stuck in the early-mid 90's. Why do you think cats fight to leave that era? Man look, if you can't get past that how the fuck you think you're going to overcome the bigger challenges like taking on media & big label money?
About the Dre issue... You can think Dre should do this or that for LA, the bay, California or the whole west coast. The bottom line is it doesn't matter what you think Dre should do because he doesn't have to do jack shit. As far as I'm concerned Dre shouldn't even be brought up because thats usually a sign that cats are running out of excuses. Fuck what Dre is or isn't doing. That's his business, what he does with Aftermath Records is his business and he doesn't control your destiny in rap music. If he wanted to help, I definately wouldn't complain but then again why would he when cats are always pointing their finger at him, blaming him for shit he isn't responsible for in the first place? You say "FUCK DRE" but at the same time still want him to help.
Saving west coast rap isn't a job for just one single person and cats need to quit depending on someone to do it. The west coast is a mess and everyone wants someone to step in a fix it all instead of everything getting real about the shit and figuring out how to fix it themselves.
If the west wants to win again then we need to win people over. We need to make them want to support us. How the fuck you think thats going to happen when most cats choose to sit around whining & having temper tantrums about not getting what they think they deserve? Nobody wants to support a cry baby and that is how a lot of west coast rappers are comin' off, straight up. Once you get over that, you still have to tackle the issue of being stuck on an outdated sound.
I'm more for the west than most cats claiming to be because I'm willing to earn the spotlight back. I don't expect that it just be handed to me.
