Yeah, if anybody is expecting a game like Resident Evil 2 in Resident Evil 5, you're sadly mistaken. Resident Evil 2 is my all-time favorite game of the series, but that's not to say that the fun factor of RE5 doesn't make up for the lack of "horror" in the game. All I have to say is, Resident Evil 5 is nothing like the origins of the series, and it's perfectly okay to love the classics and be skeptical about this one, but don't let that keep you from at least renting this game and trying it. I love the new direction the game has taken, and it's just plain fun when you get down to it. If you're lookin for a new action game, this is your game right here. If you're looking for horror, I guess you're just gonna have to wait for the next Resident Evil.
Also, I hear ya on the whole creepiness factor from when we were younger, Rawb, but I truly think that was an adolescent-only experience. We just can't get the scares like we used to when we were younger probably because our brains were suckin that shit up like a sponge. One thing that MADE Resident Evil 2 what it is though was that goddamn music. That was some creepy shit. I've replaced most of the music in my installation of Left 4 Dead to mimic it, and it's really cool. RE2 music FTW.
